Left foot 'plate' has split The old gloves have served me well for many years, even when wet they kept my hands nice and warm. But the design was rather basic they looked a little like ladies gloves with no wrist faster: [ATTACH=CONFIG]20587[/ATTACH] The new ones however seem to be a lot better engineered: [ATTACH=CONFIG]20588[/ATTACH] Time will tell though.

I don't suffer like that, but my hands really feel the pinch in winter. That's the only part of me that feels the cold. I've tried my snowboarding gloves, Sealskinz mittens, loads of different gloves, but when the temperature drops below, say 3 degrees, my hands sting like nobody's business. I've given up buying new gloves. I read that it's to do with the cold wind blowing away the insulating layer of air, and can be remedied with something windproof (marigolds!) over insulated gloves. I've had a pair of really goof Frank Thomas gloves for almost 20 years now and they are amazing in extremely cold temperatures. Don't expect them top be cheap though.

Ah, no, I meant regular insulated gloves over your hands (as normal), and a windproof layer over the whole lot. I have tried it the wrong way round, marigolds next to the skin, then covered with gloves, and it was as horrendous as it sounds. I think I will look at motorcycling gloves, though. Griff Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I wear 661 Comp gloves normally but in the winter put a thin wooly gloves under them seems to-do the trick. I got some Aldi SPD shoes a while ago and I am finding them not great when clipped in getting pain in the front of my left foot when cycling, I did a 40 minute turbo session last night unclipped (I have flat/spd pedals) and they felt OK. Not sure how other people are getting on with them? if you have them.
nicholab Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I find that a technical walking glove seems to perform well at the warmer temperature and then I change to the Aldi gloves when cold. I have cycled when the temperature registered as -9.

Nothing worse than getting wet on the way in and not being able to fully dry off your gear.

The middle school next door to mine supplies bmx-boys every so often. One stood up and started pedalling furiously when I passed him last week. Clicked the three-speed into top and left him for dust. Bmxs with their one gear suck on the road.

(I racer I know change his chain ever ride) Only time i've changed a chain was when I broke one on a ride. Aslong as you keep it clean and lubricated you shouldn't have to change chains
