Big thanks to Ozan for an excellent release! There's some amazing changes in this version so if you haven't already upgraded, consider it! If you are looking for a new solution, consider this seriously!

Looking forward to see what Christmas brings. :-)

Very nice, I'm certainly loving the new release so far :)

Quick question though, is Chrome support broke? it looks really rather wrong in it :( Thankfully we're FF or IE across the school though :)

Can you supply the version of Chrome you are using please, and any screenshots also to support [at] opsoftware.net

It has been tested on all the major browsers including Chrome & Safari

Hi All,

Those schools that have been having issues getting OPSD to license correctly, due to content filters and proxies, we have released a patch to remove this issue.

A full update can be found here: OP SmartDesk v2.1.380 (Ruby) LICENSE PATCH Released - OPSD Announcements - OP SmartDesk Forums - OP SmartDesk - Helpdesk, Asset Management, Network Management & Resource Management - All In One

We would recommend that even if you did not have a problem licensing OPSD that you apply the patch anyway.

Hi - the demo site looks like that if you use IE8, but looked totally different when we tried it in IE9.

Andrew

As you can see from the screenshots taken just now all browsers do indeed display as expected. These are clean installs on a clean PC with no restrictions by GPO or anything else.

Ok, fair enough.

We will give it a another try in IE9 and see what we get.

The PC it was running on wasn't affected by Group Policies and it still looked strange, but I will try it on another machine with IE9 installed.

I will post my findings here later today if it looks any different.

Thanks for your help.

IE9 can be abit "funky" with its display as it has developer tools builtin and switched on by default.

If you hit F12 with IE9 open the developer tools window will open, towards the top right of the window you will see the current standards being used (should be IE9) and the browser emulation (should be IE9) sometimes these are different and dont display correctly

I assume there's some update going on?

Our helpdesk has changed today, and that wouldn't be a bad thing except the frontpage currently looks like someone has just chucked things at the screen to put them where they are :D the formatting is all screwed up haha, looks pretty much ok on the staff and admin dashboards apart from the odd small thing that looks a bit odd.

Can you raise a support request here: https://www.opsoftware.net/customers/ with your issues and we look into them for you.

Be sure to note the OS and browser that you are using as well as your helpdesk doamin name

If you're hosted, maybe they are upgrading to Ruby release. But i would have thought they'd need to ask you first. There were some display problems reported as per last few posts.

Ah it's ok now, just refreshed and it seems to have fixed itself, though personally (assuming it's intended the way i can see it) not a fan of the new layout of a ticket page.

An email went out to all hosted customers last Wednesday to say that a maintenance upgrade would haapen this weekend just gone and if anyone did not want it to happen that they should let us know.

Only one customer had thiers postponed to a later date.

When you say "Ticket Page" what page do you mean?

What do you not like?

The feedback so far has been very positive.

Well like i say, not certain if it's meant to look like this but i find this part very squashed together/clutter like:

EDIT: i think personally i'd prefer it to look more like this:

BEfore on the left, after i've frigged about in paint on the right lol (imageshack seems to be going slow loading the picture tho for me)

EDIT2: The only other bit i don't like is this bit on the staff dashboard:

Users Currently Online

3

Average Response Time

-- Hrs -- Mins

New Requests Today

2

Requests Closed Today

2

Looks a bit pants in plain text at the top, though again not sure if that was intentional.

I would say it was all wrong, what browser are you using?

Have you cleared the cache for the browser?

Have you viewed it in another browser?

The image below it what it should look like :)

ohhhh well that looks far more like it haha, i'm currently using chrome, tried clearing the cache a few times, i'll test some other browsers then.

EDIT: Ok works fine in firefox and IE9 but not in chrome, which is a pitty as that's all that's used here school wide now lol, you going to be working on chrome compatibility any time soon?

ah ffs it works fine in opera as well, trust me to pick the one browser that has issues.

EDIT: ah ha, clearing the cache 3 times appears to have fixed it o_O not sure why but multiple reloads have got it looking like it should

Was going to say the 4 major browsers are all supported and have been fully tested.

Great to see it is doing as it should now for you ;)
