So that was another cracking episode. 2/2 - this clearly is return to form. The Father/Son video chat was fantastically well done, certainly a nod back to similar well thought out and very clever ideas they had back in the day!

Thoroughly enjoyed yet again. Can't wait for next week's now which looks different!

Oh, and for those that watched the trailer for next weeks...

"Jesus!"

"Yes?"

Summed up nicely there. :)

It really is enjoyable again! Next week's does look very interesting and already excited about it! :)

Much better than the first episode, it was comedy gold when Lister picked up his guitar.

I'm not too sure about Cat's role though, it looks like they're struggling a little, and returning to the old "this is mine" bit. I think his best moments were navigating Starbug when they spent the series on there.

For me the opposite. All those silly 'breaking regulation 118726 section b' jokes got on my t~ts.

Was that Cat? Or Kryten-Rimmer?

I dunno, quite a few Space Core Regulations had me in stitches.

"Any office caught sniffing the saddles in the womens gym..."

"No officer with false teeth should attempt oral sex in zero gravity"

Just watching some classic dwarf and noticed something. S05E03 - Terrorform, at the end of the episode, they all hug and Lister grabs around the shoulder and squeezes him, but Rimmer does not become 'hard light' unit S06E02 - Leigon! God I sound like a right dwarf nerd!

Nothing wrong with being a dwarf nerd. I'm a fully signed up member of the Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation into Society.

I once dated a girl who knew the scripts and timings for the first three series off by heart, you could play her the start of an episode then turn the sound down and she would recite the script for the rest of the show, she didn't even need to watch the TV.

And you broke up because... [i don't actually want to know.]

I'm pretty sure I could do that now. I've watched them all so many times.

Aye. I watched it so much as a kid I wore the VHS tapes out. And I wrote the entire script to one of the episodes (can't remember which) on the table during an English exam. I should have handed the table in. (almost a Rimmer joke itself there!)

Didn't really enjoy last night's as good as last week's show. I felt the laughter problem was back again. A couple of minutes in Lister was reading the book and said "....composed twinkle twinkle little star at the age of five", which got a laugh. Why? It wasn't funny.

I think Dave should show two versions of the show, one without the laughter the day after.

Well I do. The show is funny in its own right - it doesnt need random laughter inserted in odd places to try and make it seem funnier.

Wasn't this already covered? It isn't inserted.

The laugh track is from a live studio audience. Not sure if it is there when filming, or whether it is recorded during a viewing. But whichever way, it is legitimate laughter, not just canned and added randomly.

It may be legitimate laughter but, it does not mean its the live laughter for that specific joke.

These shows are heavily edited and post produced from the filming stage.

It's a live audience.
