kylewilliamson Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Should I be embrassed that you have to dial 9 to get an outside line in my house too?
Joedetic Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 My tiny room at uni plays host to 2 x cisco 2610 routers, one cisco catalyst 2924-XL-EN, one allied telesyn 24 port network switch, one dual core desktop PC, one 2U rackmount VA Linux Fullon 2240 dual 1GHz P3 processors and several boxes of cables. That's all on the major ICT equipment that i have at uni. It doesnt all get used on a day to day basis...and for a 19 year old that's quite good i thought LOL. Then of course there's the guitars in hard cases and the big 50W bass amp lol. I wonder if i could get planning permission for an extension to a 2nd floor room?
john Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Should I be embrassed that you have to dial 9 to get an outside line in my house too?Nah I wouldn't worry about it, I do, but in my case its 9 or 8 dependant on if I want a VOIP line or Analogue line.
sidewinder Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Oh I missed that bit, was more busy looking at the pictures Maybe thats why Websense has suddenly decided to BLOCK THE PAGE Bloody LEA How have you viewed it if you have websense?? have you found a way round it or do you use a second internet conection. When I first posted the link it was unblocked. When I went to look at it again an hour later, it was blocked. They must have looked at the logs and for some reason decided to block it (unless websense does it automatically by content?) They make some ridiculous decisions with regards to banning sites, and getting any unblocked again is a hugely frustrating experiance. For example Ive got a personal website which I uploaded and installed Joomla on, without putting much content on it. The day after I put it on, it was blocked. I asked the LEA why and they say they block 'under construction' sites because people host files on them. Quite how thy decide when a site is under construction or not is anyones guess. Idiots

acrobson Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 This guy has a serious cable management issue. If he can afford all that kit (lucky git) he can surely afford some cable management!
gwendes Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Single? Surely he'll pull with all that! Damn - I'm considering...
acrobson Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Single? Surely he'll pull with all that! Damn - I'm considering...The only thing this guy is pulling is cable! !!
laserblazer Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Back in the early 80s a guy I worked with had a PDP 7 in his bedroom with a mattress on top. He said it beat a water bed. He was single His name was Jim Beard and he lived Romford way, so maybe someone out there knows him.
