got on RS at 6am (very tired, thank you SGA season 3) but only got to register interest and now I cannot get into anything. :(

time to be that BOFH we all hate: "I WANT GIMME GIMME GIMME"

Registered an interest at 6 am with RS only to be told by raspberrypi Twitter that is not the right page. Had one in the basket at Farnel and then the server bombed. What a morning!!

I went on both Farnell and RS at 6:30. No joy! lol Ah well wait for batch 2

I wanted to download the emulator, but thats not available on the site. Does anyone have a copy they could put somewhere I could get to?

I have already been asked about the pi's and I wanted to show SMT what it is and can do.]

Thanks

Wut.

I don't see any mention of it having WiFi...

They've corrected it. I can't believe they got it wrong. It was one of the most talked about things - "Oh please give it Wifi" - "No, it'll bump the price up". Came up virtually every day on their forums.

Wut. All you need is something like this.

£15 and Robert is your father's brother.

Some people are too cheap these days...

There has been a hardware change as far as we can gather with the RAM increased to 256MB. Once we get conformation of any/all changes we'll let you know. Watch the front page today for a quick article and some brand new datasheets direct from the RP community.

Dear, God, man! How will we cope with that much memory?!

Perhaps someone will come up with a 'pie' chassis & let us cluster them....... then you can run seperate threads on each slice of pie.......

Whack 2 on each side of this, 1 port free for internet. [ethernet bridge for teh wireless]

Make a casing to house it all.

???

Cluster.

Le EDIT: Also, battery for portability.

3/4 dedicated to processing. +Screen [Touch with onscreen keyboard.]

It's a brick... But it's a [censored] powerful brick.

*Update* What we know is that the 2 distributors underestimated the demand for RP so their sites were swamped apparently (even though they were warned beforehand). RS will be selling the RP, but they have been delayed a couple of days from what we can gather. I think if you register your interest with them you will either be mailed or added to a wait list. I shall see if I can get an answer for that today sometime, but given the mad rush all at RP are having today I wouldn't want to trouble them.

We will be putting up a post on the front page later today/tonight containing all of the official media packs and flyers as well as the links you will need to know about i.e. the official community forums hosted here and the official forums hosted by RP and the differances between them (we handle the official development forums in conjuction with Frambozenbier and the main RP forums are for news and chat basically).

Anyway congratulations to all at Raspberry Pi, they've pushed the snowball to the top of the hill, and now they are letting it go. They just have to keep up with it on the way down though :)
