  1. For those that have transitioned from ClickView to something else, do ClickView provide you with your library content back in a straightforward, convenient way, or is it down to schools to download their material manually from the site? PM if you prefer.
  2. We use Bromcom's SMTP service. I presume that means that we will be unaffected by the above?
  3. We are considering a move away from ClickView as the costs for the service have continually risen, it's not viable really to continue. Before we engage with providers can anyone advise if eStream (now Uniguest eStream) has generally been a cheaper proposition?
  4. Cheers! Sent you a PM
  5. Thanks so much. I needed this reminder on Sway's existence! How does publishing externally work?
  6. I've been asked to look at solutions for re-vamping our existing weekly internal staff bulletin. We currently use Word with a very basic template which has become tired. Ease of use and a simple yet modern appearance are key. What do you use for your internal weekly comms? Are there web-based solutions that offer a modern look that can be published within a school network? Do O365 schools make use of SharePoint for this and if so, how?
  7. ClipChamp is coming to Edu customers with A3 and A5 licenses according to their edu blog https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/education-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-edu-may-2024/ba-p/4132818#clipchamp
  8. Are there any products or solutions for syncing student and staff accounts, timetable and class information from either Arbor or Bromcom to Moodle? We use 'Edulink for Moodle' that works (brilliantly) for SIMS but our days with that MIS look numbered.
  9. I contacted Edulink and they were good enough to provide a list of modules already developed for Arbor compatibility and those on the roadmap for development. I won't post the list here as it will date quickly and wouldn't be fair to them but I would summarise it as encouraging.
  10. Thanks for the reply. No, this is being done with an SDS profile that has expired correctly at the end of the academic year and yes, I am only selecting the class Teams created by SDS. A couple of weeks later I set up the new SDS profile to process the new academic year and that works fine too. This profile is managed by Salamander and to all intents and purposes we are running these steps correctly. My question is what happens ordinarily to the names of the SharePoint sites connected to those expired and archived class Teams? I would expect the site names to change to the same as the expired class Team name. Is that what you see?
  11. Yes I do the Group Cleanup Report work as well. But for some reason when we move onto the archive and expiry stage after the Group Cleanup only a 100 or so of the SharePoint sites attached to those Teams get renamed the same as the Team with an EXP prefix, whilst several hundred don't get renamed which is leading to confusion for us and staff. I'd really like to know what should happen when it's working properly because I am hearing contradictory things. Should we expect to see the SharePoint sites get renamed?
  12. Could someone kindly confirm if SharePoint sites connected to Teams get renamed when running the end of year expiry/archive process in SDS? It would be logical if they did.
  13. As the title suggest the SharePoint sites connected to our Class-based Teams are not being archived/expired when we run the SDS Group Cleanup at the end of the academic year. This is leaving hundreds of sites confusing our SharePoint Admin view as they keep their original name rather than being renamed with the Team that they are connected to. When we expire our Teams they get an EXP-MMYY prefix which is necessary for keeping a handle on each year's Teams. Some sites do get renamed but it's about a tenth of the total number of sites that get created annually for our class-based Teams. Does anyone experience this and what steps do you take to tidy up all these sites?
  14. Year round IT Technician post in Bristol. As one of a team of three IT Technicians reporting to the IT Manager, you will assist in the management of the busy IT service, in order to provide a teaching, learning and administrative resource for staff and students. Further details on this link: https://www.eteach.com/careers/smrt-bristol/job/it-technician-1239137?
  15. +1 for Edulink. Excellent value and great support
  16. We are evaluating classroom management and reporting tools that are multi-faceted and go that extra mile. Our primary need is Homework reporting to parents/carers and students but we are conscious of the fact that we can purchase software that does a whole host of other things when connected to our MIS (SIMS). A secondary need for us is to find a replacement for our current software to communicate emails and text messages to parents/carers and students. We are evaluating Edulink One and Class Charts. Are there any other software packages that bundle a lot of useful features well and are worth exploring?
  17. I wasn't involved in the set up of Teams so apologies for the basic question and the lack of understanding about how accounts are set up in O365: Our student usernames begin with a year of entry e.g. 17smithj@domain. As a result of this in Teams quite often the students will appear minimized in circles at the foot of the screen and all the teacher can see is a list of 1's because 1 will be the start of the student's username. Ideally we would like to see one initial, if not both, to assist staff in identifying students who are contributing in a Teams lesson. Where do I begin to change this? Is the display name in Teams derived from AD?
  18. Really! That's interesting as that blog post says 'All class changes will need to be maintained within Teams, by the Teacher... Class membership will no longer sync from the Group to Teams.' Did you already have a sync profile set up before Microsoft changed things on 26 March? Does the sync run daily or is it triggered manually.
  19. Does the paid for Salamander product include synchronization of SIMS class changes in Teams? I take it from this blog post by Salamander that it does not and the onus is on Teachers to amend the class groups. Are there any products that provide that functionality?
  20. We are considering using OneDrive to deliver results. The above method of using GAM to identify the ID of each file is what we want to be able to do in One Drive, rather than right clicking each file and copy and pasting the file link several hundred times. Is there a way of discovering file IDs in One Drive in bulk?
  21. For the person that has everything... Choose.Love My folks have done this for me this year, and immediately on seeing the site they asked me to do the same for them.
  22. Thanks everyone. That's given me some useful pointers.
  23. Name, school email and possibly class
  24. I've been posed a question that I'm not sure the answer to. We are about to enrol hundreds of students to Thisislangauage.com via a bulk CSV upload using their school email addresses as usernames. In terms of GDPR do we need to obtain consent from the student/student's guardians before we do this? If we ask students to sign up themselves (which will be a headache) does this negate the need for us to obtain consent?
  25. Does anyone have any ballpark costs for any specialist software that handles admissions e.g. the license fee charged by Capita for their Registration and Admission module perhaps? Or perhaps the cost of the SIMS product for independent schools if that’s not the same module.
