@mhemmings If a woman proposes to me any day with a @Raspberry_Pi I will have to say yes, the wife might not be too happy about it though!

I might drop a line to RS ... they are only just up the road from me so I'll see if they are selling any over the counter.

Don't you mean under the counter?

I believe RS are waiting for stock and that stock will go to those that registered an interest first, might be quite a while before you can just drop in and pick one up

Got some feedback from RS.

You still have to register to express an interest, and they will send out the stock they have to those first. After that they will then sell over the counter but they will get back to me if anything can be arranged collectively.

He has no stock, it should be reported, certainly some of the other auctions have been reported

OMG!! £1k for an item they don't even have and then ask you to wait a few weeks, by which time you'd be able to order one for about £25 (inc VAT+delivery) anyway.

> £1k

You forgot to add the £3.50 delivery. [£3.50 for the UK. Add more for other places.]

if he gets £1000 for it 90% should be donated to charity

Then he's still making 300% profit.

Take the cost of the Pi and delivery costs away from the sold price [actual costs. Not made up ones] and give THAT to charity.

Le EDIT: I'd allow 100% profit [~£25] for expansion.

Morally Ebay should just say this is a charitable item any profits over cost price will be donated back to the charity, that would put an end to the Ebay scammers

But, how will eBay take their cut?

WON'T ANYONE THINK OF THE PROFITS!

ebay take their cut out of the cost price the scammer gets back, scammer loses money and hopefully learns a lesson.

In all seriousness, eBay would be douches if they did that.

Say, for instance, the Pi guys whacked all the boards on eBay for charity. They'd end up losing a lot of money and end up out of business.

All because they were trying to do something good.
