Nikthomas Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 VW FTW I should be more specific, MK4 1.9 TDI 5 door, with R32 bits on it to make it look better, but I should add I'm going to go and testdrive the new R32 and new GTI and the new GT TDI over the next month and look to changing it. I wouldn't even look at the R32 unless u fancy paying £400 a year on tax!!! And i'm not even joking! VW are now scrapping the R32 and bringing a R20 out later this year or next spring to stay inside of the lower tax bracket.
CAM Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Vauxhall Astra, S-Reg. Not a bad car at all and only broken down twice. Needs a good clean though!
Chris_in_notts Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) I love the mk2's heres mine has a 1.8 20v engine from a mk4 golf running standalone engine management plus afew other mods its about 170bhp (well it was before the cambelt snapped afew weeks ago) just waiting for a new head or engine for it. Crap pic from when I first got it has the correct grill and trims now and the bumpers are the right colour http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l208/chris_in_notts/DSCF3463.jpg and my weekend fun with a new colour http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l208/chris_in_notts/n822885206_6212788_8373832.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l208/chris_in_notts/gallery_193_57_43958.jpg Edited April 30, 2009 by Chris_in_notts
john Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 But an R20 won't be as much fun We already have 2.0ltr cars as that was the joy of the R32 3.2ltrs of pure fun, may as well stick an R20 badge on a normal Golf TDI as thats 2.0 now. Hmmmm will see what they do though, still not done owt wiv mine so will have to wait and see and think more.....
jedwards2 Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Time someone resurrected this thread.... My daily runner: Seat Leon TDI Cupra http://www.aboijj.com/images/BlackMagicthumb.jpg My play car (in more bits than I care to remember just at the moment!): Nissan 200SX S13 http://www.aboijj.com/200sx/2006-04-02/IMG_1570.JPG I will be putting her back together soon, I hope.
Sirbendy Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Good point! My "original" asstrap is dead now..someone in a Fiesta tried to mate with it. Sigh. From this: http://sirbendy.jemjabella.co.uk/images/cars/astraback.jpg To this: http://sirbendy.jemjabella.co.uk/images/writeoff/dscf3866edit.jpg Unimpressed wasn't the word. 117k, seriously reliable motor. Now got this beatie: http://sirbendy.jemjabella.co.uk/images/cars/newastra/back2.jpeg 54k on the clock, 1 owner, FSH, Next gen engine and box from the last one (Z16SE MPi and AF13II). Works quite nicely now I've sorted out the niggling bits, plugged it into the netbook and made a few changes to the settings.

I always fancied getting another Peugeot 205GTi, unfortunately they've all been ragged silly now There are a lot of 'hot' 80s cars out there for very little money, but most are on their last legs. Bit of a shame as I can now afford them!
