I did spend ten minutes or so herding deer or moose or something into oncoming traffic last night. This game is seriously sick. I love it.

I've only managed to play for about 30 minutes so far but there's one thing (small though it is) that kind of bugs me - you can flip your car back upright if you land on your roof. Now, I know that in the middle of a mission that's going to come in very useful, but it kind of feels like cheating! Flipping your car then having to quickly grab another or dive in to a field before being showered in bullets is all part of the fun! Of course, I could just choose not to do it...

I do agree with that. I just don't use that feature.

Finally got my first play of it today....4 hours straight infact

 

Took me a little while to get used to the xbox controller after using keyboard and mouse only for so long for gaming. Still getting used to it but it's not too bad Lovely game so far....very first thing i did was pull in a hooker then kill her once the job was done, as per every other GTA game haha. A bit disappointed with how bad the graphics are, but then what can i expect coming from a lifetime of PC to a decade old console? It doesn't detract away from the gameplay which is the main thing.

Really good story though and its one of the few games that lives up to the hype for once!

ive played about 10 hours so far and not even done the first heist, having too much fun exploring and doing little side bits

 

i find that ill do one mission then get distracted between missions and take ages messing about haha

Yeah I dont quite a bit of distractions too tbh. As the story goes on there is places where you can do nothing but wait a day or so for a phone call so you get to do all the crazy stuff after that. I'll spend tonight messing on (Days to nights is the worst ...)

 

Apparently once online is launched there will be 500 new missions to do at anytime including heists etc and different game modes on the social site like death matches and races. Amazing, really impressed by it all tbh.

Also if GTAV can look this good on a 8year old bit of kit, then explain to me why the ARMA 3 devs have so badly optimized their game? If one more fan boy tells me its the AI I'll spew because the turtles from mario have better AI.

I finished it last night, took me around 28 hours for the main story. Going through for the clean up on completion, missions, collectibles, medals etc until it launches online.

 

Though that said, I've spent most of my clear up time chasing things on bikes launching sticky bombs.. ever thrown one of them at a passenger jet? Interesting stuff

Finished the story yesterday. Best game I think I've ever played. Better than the BF3 in terms of enjoyment factor. I didn't think i'd ever say something beat BF3 if i'm honest.

I liked the Story, finished it in a similar amount of time...

 

My issue with it is though that there are stacks of places the story doesn't take you.

Got it at the weekend and although good I haven't been blown away by it somehow, I guess mainly because it's a mix of San Andreas map with GTA IV graphics and I knew a couple of years ago this is how the next game would look. Still be a good play though.

I haven't played any of the earlier games so hard to comment other than all the reviews I've seen suggest the main city, Los Santos, is a close on 1:1 replica of Los Angeles. The map is HUGE though.

GTA needs an NPC/shop that sells maps...

 

GTAIV had "whattheydonotwantyoutoknow.com" but, IIRC, it didn't make collectables viewable from the main map. Which either meant going back to an internet cafe after every collectable, or trying to remember where they all are.

i havent done any mission except from the very first bit as you load the game, too much fun exploring at the moment.

onto the heist where i need to nick a dustbin waggon not done it yet. So far the chinook is a pita to fly, ive been killed by what i assume was a wolf, went up the cable car then fell of a motorbike and bounced to my death down the mountain. The totrue bit though is something i could of done without

Top of mount Chilliad, mountain bike, last one to the bottom losses. Well, that was a fun side mission to say the least.
