Still can't get the gate glitch quite working, though I seem to have found a couple of things that make it *seem* like it should work:

 

- You need a car with a jagged front edge - smashed in bonnet works, as do cars whose front end smashes in enough to expose the tyres from head on

- Turning in to the direction the gate closes slightly as you hit seems to improve your chances.

 

The best I managed was to get the car to flip over the gate, I can fairly consistently get the gate to fling the car now but haven't managed to get any decent height on it. Had quite an amusing accident last night trying it - I had completely killed a Coquette by ramming it in to the gate, got out to walk away and get a new car and as I did the glitch kicked in - the wreck nearly decapitated me in the process! :p

 

Also last night decided to fly a jet as high as it would go, then aimed the nose at the ground full speed and dived out - the wing clipped me a second later and I died

@LosOjos - were you using PS3 or Xbox 360 when you managed to get the gate glitch working a bit?

360 - when I say "a bit" I really mean it, the highest I got the car to flip was just enough to put it over the gate, most of the time it just gets slammed in to the wall, but using the tips above I feel like it's just a matter of choosing the right car...

Is this a case that the 360 is the best version of the game because it comes with more bugs?

 

I'm not getting in to a PS3/360 flame war here - they're both crap next to a PC :p

flame war!?! Just asking if the extra bugs made the 360 better is all :(

 

Of course nothing beats a PC that isn't even capable of playing the best game released this year ;)

Not yet, but when it does get a PC release it won't be long before I'm cruising in the Delorean ;) lol

In fact. There are a lot of games I haven't played.

 

I hear that... over 100 games in my Steam library, probably a good 80% of which I haven't played for more than 30 minutes. There aren't enough hours in the day!

 

[Actually there are, they're just wasted doing less important things like working or raising a family]

 

 

Of course, the game won't actually be worth playing until it's available on SteamOS...

 

Given that RDR still hasn't had a PC release, I think hell may well freeze over before we get a Linux version of any GTA game

I'm guessing depends on where the servers are, if they just in America then in europe we may see them come online around 9am - 11am but if there are servers in europe then I guess 12pm midnight (wild guessing). I look forward to see how the online part of the game plays out.

I'm interested in seeing how these micro-transactions work.

 

A few people [me included] wonder if it's possible to mug other players. [Wouldn't that be illegal? You'd be literally taking something that was paid for by someone else, without their consent.]

online t&c could say if you get mugged in the game then tough its all part and parcel of a mmog it would be no worse than spending real money doing up a car to have someone crash a plane into it and blow it up

iT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT ANY CAR YOU'VE MODIFIED IS AVAILABLE IN YOUR GARAGE AT ANY TIME, SO IF IT GETS BLOWN UP YOU JUST GO TO YOUR GARAGE AND GET AN IDENTICAL NEW ONE... i COULD BE WRONG THOUGH.

well no but as all you are buying is a licence to have some ip that can be revoked at any time. Dont people in eve online steal each others stuff that has cost real money all the time?
