aerospacemango Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 So, there it is! This morning, I handed in my resignation to the college. After 3 years, I have decided that I'm moving from Suffolk to Northants. I don't have a job to go to, but I will be moving in with my partner. After the year that I've had, losing my Dad and my brother-in-law AND the break down of the relationship with my son's mother, I am making a new life for myself. Obviously, my plans are to stay in IT, wherever that may take me, but for now....I have 24 1/2 working days left, and I plan to enjoy every one of them!
MK-2 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Good for you, I hope all things work out for you. I hope this doesn't mean you won't be on here as much? 1
aerospacemango Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Good for you, I hope all things work out for you. I hope this doesn't mean you won't be on here as much? That would very much depend on where my next job is!!! If I can get into a school or college over that way, then I'll be around just as much....if not...then I'll be popping in during the evenings!
synaesthesia Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Throw me your email address fella - I've been getting a few jobs (not educational unfortunately) come through on email recently, I'll be happy to forward them onto you. 1
bossman Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 @aerospacemango: Wish you and your life all the best, you deserve a change, you know what they say "A change is as good as a rest" Good for you man! Hope everything works out for you 1
rad Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 A change is a good thing. I moved from Essex to West London to live with other half. Best thing I did, it made us grow stronger and have been together now under the same roof 5 years. I had a job but I am sure one will swing by sooner, plus once you are over there going for interviews is easy. Best of luck to you. 1
pcstru Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Northhants!! May the lord have mercy on your soul. Good luck though :-)! 1

DT2 Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Try Wellingborough Homes - guy there is called Rob McAllister. IIRC they were on the lookout for a tech a few months back. Not education - but it's a starting point. Good Luck. DT 1

synaesthesia Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I've already said we'll have to drag you out for a pint - im sure wagnerk and his folks would happily come along too We're a decent bunch in Wellingborough! It's not the best town in the world but it has it's interesting moments (for instance the rumours about riots spreading here earlier in the year which ended up closing half the high street!). And the pubs serve beer, so all is forgiven

kmount Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Wellingborough eh, couple of miles from me, another one for the beer outing. We'll even let @GrumbleDook out for a bit. 1
teejay Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Good luck with it all, when I did this I moved from Kent to West Yorkshire which was certainly an experience and culture change. Still up here 24 years later :-) 1
