nickbro Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 @mattgrimley, shouldn't be too much work to add that feature in. I'll pop into the delayed 7.7 release 1
mattgrimley Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks mate, will have a play with that! I have a raft of suggestions related to the helpdesk now for your consideration!! Helpdesk Suggestions:I'd like (admins) to be able to edit the title of a ticket (teachers always put things like "Help" or "Urgent" or some such) I'd like some more information on the "Open Ticket Display" and "Closed Ticket Display" (Details: Username | Room | LogDate | LastActionDate | Status) (with some "sort by" titles?? ) Priority defaults to "Undefined" - can it perhaps default to "Normal"? The Status seems always to be "WithIT" or "Fixed" - Can status be used to record ownership of the issue, i.e. "WithUser". Ownership could be explicitly handed back to the user in the email rather than indefinitely pending a response and remaining owned by IT. When tickets are closed, the email that is generated to the punter contains only the text from the last update (and not the whole conversation). This makes it hard for the user to identify the context if they have multiple tickets. (Often they get an email saying, "Should be fixed now" and they have no idea what the problem was..) When tickets are "UPDATED" (same as above) Mark as FAQ seems to not work for me.. I'd quite like to be able to edit (tidy and format) an FAQ item without effecting the original source ticket. Can "Mark as FAQ" generate a duplicate ticket, perhaps in a different xml file? This could be edited, formatted etc to make it specifically relevant as an FAQ. Links in the emails don't seem to work consistently.. Specifically, if you don't have an active session, it redirects to the login page but then it doesn't go back to the target link post-login. When using "Make Aware", can it be treated like a CC and include those people in the thread with the same rights as the original - and be displayed in the ticket details (most of this may already be functional, but im never sure if i have to "make aware" everyone at every update etc). That's it
spc-rocket Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Hi, Just wondering if the current version supports webdav for file access? If not then this would be one of the features i'd like. Ash.
nickbro Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 WebDav is an IIS feature, not HAP+. You would have to configure this yourself
gianzack Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 dear Nick, here is my whish list: 1) track/logging interfare:e.g.:test user deleted file1 on 01-05-2012 2) detailed file view: e.g. 1file per row with date created date modified owner ... 3)setuptest page: test.aspx rums several tests and returns red or green lights
nickbro Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 @gianzack, 1) would put way to much stuff into the hap+ event log, but I'll look into it, 2) See http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/83945-v8-my-files-post763974.html#post763974, 3) is this ok? The 2nd Check, changes depending on IIS6 or IIS7

The 2nd Check, changes depending on IIS6 or IIS7 @nick 1) I think at a very basic audit: just who, what(create/delete-filename), when 2) You read my mind! Date modified might be useful too. 3) You have super powers!!!
enjay Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Two ideas for new features in the booking system... 1) switch a booking from Room A to Room B without having to delete it from one and recreate it in the other 2) delete a single lesson from a static booking
nickbro Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Wonder if anyone will find this in the v7.8 release 1
enjay Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 In Booking System, could it be possible to delete a single lesson in a static booking cycle. I know the lessons can be overridden, but it would also be useful for a teacher to be able to delete them so that other staff know the room is available.
simonmerry Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Is it possible for the booking systme to inform you of timetable clashes when importing the static bookings? Say a timetabling change has been made and you import that change but a teacher has booked out that room 4 weeks in advance. Currently it seems that the booking made by the teacher overides the static booking until the teacher booking is deleted, the period then gets populated by the static booking.
gianzack Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Dear nick, I think it might be nice to be able to set the defaul file vie for each mapped folder (detailed, small icons, large icons, and so on) Ciao Gian
mobybrick Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Hi Nick, Support for Quotas provided by server 2008's File Server Resource Manager (instead of old disk-based quotas) would be very much appreciated. The API is here IFsrmQuotaManager::GetQuota method Thanks!
nickbro Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 As soon as I we get our new RM CC4.3 servers (3 of them) I'll be able to move to the File Server Resource Manager API. That wont be until Feb half term. So expect a 8.x release which will enable support.
gianzack Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Hi all, I'm asking for a list of features you would like to see make it into the v8 release of HAP+. Currently on the books are: Moving the MSCB to JSON which should improve things Move to using a Metro Stylized UI (Booking System will go over in v7.5) Main Strings will be Localized, so you can, via the setup page (Should be something like localstrings.xml <=!=[=C=D=A=T=A=[string]=]=>) Any other requests? Hi @nickbro I am not evanished, I am just terriply busy with other business (DHCP and migration of email system). we mapped a folder with 80 pictures of approx. 13 MB each and we noticed it takes a long time to show the icons (the processors on the server hosting hap are @98% for a while). would it be possible to speed up the process ( maybe to use the thumb.db file is present or other tricks)? thanks again for your wonderful work Gian Edited February 9, 2012 by gianzack
nickbro Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 I think I've managed to code something that will speed up thumbnail generation, using the windows api calls.
gianzack Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I think I've managed to code something that will speed up thumbnail generation, using the windows api calls. @nickbro You are great Nick !!!
nickbro Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 If you want to try the thumbnails stuff, give http://www.edugeek.net/forums/home-access-plus/90459-hap-v8-file-server-resource-management-quota-testers.html a try, this includes the thumbs
mattgrimley Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hey Nick, Gets a step further in that it loads the root MyFiles UI. However, i cannot open any of the drives - nothing happens, just spins the red circle next to the drive name.. I recall changing my hapconfig.xml file to usagemode="DriveSpace" recently.. would that cause a problem? Shout that be set back to the other mode? (i forget the syntax) My only other observation is that for an admin type user, i see correct space quota's on all of the drives under My Drives, but when i log on as a regular user, i dont see anything in the space where the percentage bar should be. Cheers, Matt
nickbro Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Shouldn't stop the drivespace from working as that's a separate thing. Are there any JSON errors?
Andy_Corrin Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Hi nick, Firstly, this is a great project... Amazing that you're happy to share it with everyone. My dream request.... Any chance of building in some kind of basic document editor(doesn't need to be as fancy as office web apps etc)? Was thinking it would be immense for mobile users to be able to make alterations to word docs etc... Something of that nature anyway? We have a lot of potential iPad users, and this platform works superb on it, but only in a read only fashion pretty much Maybe something for version 9? Haha Anyways, top bloke and cheers again Andy
Oaktech Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 the config of this is a major headache to me as a non web orientated person, is there any way of creating an installer option that might simplify the initial setup?

Unfortunately not, the MSI I did have for the old < v5 versions didn't work for the specific IIS settings needed.
