Hello All, Tomorrow will be my final day at the current school where I work - Ashby School. I will me moving out of education and going over to the private sector. I would like to thank all those people who have provided invaluable advice, support and guidance through the many years that I have been at Ashby. Hello there, I was wondering will this actually cache the cookie so that when the staff who have domain joined laptops can have drives mapped at home (using the school provided laptops)? I'm not sure how long the cookie lasts? We have ADFS deployed and everything works fine (i haven't tried your script yet by the way) in regards to SSO etc. Thanks, Ash.

Hello all, Our exams officer is having all sort of problems access the aqa extranet. Sometime it works fine other times is very slow to not being usable at all its all very intermittent. I have whitelisted the website to bypass HTTPS scanning but it hasn't helped. I'm just wondering if other schools are having the same problem in your school etc. I believe the issue is with their end rather than us because when it works fine and then it doesn't. We don't change the rules on web filtering or firewall so there is no logical explanation other than their servers are under heavy load at certain times?? Thanks, Ash.

Geoff, I think the main problem is that the apps are per user, not only is the pain to deploy this but also the provision of them per user on each system(device) they logon to. This makes logon times longer than they need to be and uses so much space on their local profiles on each workstation say. I think someone was stating that with windows 10 that apps are provisioned after the logon which does not eat into the logon time, we'll see how this goes. This is all because the apps are per user which really they should not be. Ash.

Ah good stuff, looks like they thought of this. Do you get the "Hi!, we're setting things up" or similar, you may have hidden this with GPO in which case you may not get that. Just wondering what login times you're getting i.e. with a roaming profile say. Thanks, Ash.

Would be great if true. The thing with this is that its okay to have the app installed in the image but do they provision for each user (this is another issue I guess). Sometime when logging on to windows 8 station you will see black screen for some time before getting to desktop. What it is doing is provisioning the app for the user. This process happens on all stations where the user has not logged on! so if they sort this out it would be a massive step forward of adopting windows 10 in education. Ash.

Yes, this is one of the big pain with windows 8.1, the apps have to be per computer not per user!!, not sure why every vendor is going for personalised rubbished, my apps etc, my store etc. In education you want to roll these apps our to the computer not, users!. completely agree with you. Ash.

Hi Michael, This is what I was doing with the cookie365 utility, all most seamless i.e. it uses your logged in credentials if you have ADFS server deployed. It does need username and password from outside network but its from an user point of view, its all pretty much seamless. there is nothing to sync because they are accessing the documents live from the internet. Hi Michael, Yes I see what you mean now. Hmm I still think this is not how the onedrive is meant to be used. I think you may want to just give them mapped drive to their own onedrive using the link I sent in the thread earlier. i.e. cookie365. This will map the drive from cloud straight away and anything opened from and saved to the drive map will be in the cloud by default. You can use the SharePoint document library for shared areas etc. Ash,

Michael, I'm not sure what you are trying to do, when you install the onedrive for business on the server the drive is a physical drive that has a share for people to connect to? i.e. the D drive for the server. I would have thought that if you were to share the drive which then gets mapped to workstation so people in the first instance save or move file to the mapped drive on the server. Once on the server it will detect that some change has happened and onedrive for business will sync the content to the cloud? Sorry am I not getting this right? Ash.

Hiya, Are you using the onedrive for business client? if so you may not want to do that and just use the map drive feature so its a mapped drive like any other. I suppose if they are using the web view of the onedrive then they can do all those things you mentioned. Ash.

Hi Michael, I'm not sure if you have ADFS server deployed for a true single sign-on but if you do, you can use a free application that someone developed called cookie365 that can map onedrive and sharepoint drives. See here --> Office365 and surroundings I've done testing with batch file (run at post logon and it does map onedrive and sharepoint drives). There are a couple of things you will need in order to get this working i.e. having your adfs sever's url in the intranet zone and also having a your office365 domain on trusted sites zones etc. Search for info on mapping drives for sharepoint for more information. Hi, Yes we just bought the enterprise version for Deploy and Inventory and its very simple to use and works very well. Early days yet but it offers a number of customisation when deploying packages etc. The multi step and nested packages that bossman mentions are very good indeed. Ash.

Hiya, Thanks for your help thus far, I really do appreciate it. Since the rule is a server publishing rule and not a web publishing rule I don't see the place to put "paths". I think this is only available if you use a web publishing rule to publish the web server /adfs server Ash.

Hiya, I've created a server publishing rule to allow 443 traffic to ADFS server from external with an external IP. I think you may have configure web publishing rule for this. Hiya, Yes the adfs server(s) are published through TMG 2010, at the moment, I have 1 reverse publishing rule i.e. 443 from external to the ADFS servers and for ADFS server to go out we have anonymous access to internet for Microsoft domains. Could you share your rules if possible. Many thanks, Ash.
