Hi, I don't suppose anyone can share a GPO export of their AppLocker rules? Same problems here. Any joy with the printing issue? Thanks Moby

Hi, Sorry to reply to an old thread - just stumbled on it. The problem I found was that UEV bookmarks stored in the UEV location are not loaded into the local Bookmarks section for users logging on to a different or new PC, even with this GPO set. The user has to run IE to get the local bookmarks folder populated. There's a tiny utility that can be downloaded at http://www.stevesharrad.co.uk . Find the free software section and download 'FavSync' UEV + Edge now works and the bookmarks are automatically present when a user logs on to a new PC. The GPO still needs to be set for Edge and UEV to share templates. Hope this helps! Moby

Hi Nick, Looking at the working (edited) version of the new default.aspx, the header shows I can't debug the non-edited version because the page advances after a split second to the error screen. We don't have the DirectEdit client installed BTW. Is there any further way I can look for edge mode on the edited version? Thanks Moby

Hi Nick, Commenting out that section does the trick I am using Internet Exploiter 11. Let me know if I can test a fix or anything else... Thanks Moby

New Installation in existing Folder: Not working.
mobybrick replied to Dan_ATR's topic in Home Access Plus+
Yes, this functionality exists in HAP. Assuming that the home directory attribute is set for each user (to a DFS share in the format \\dfs\sharename\%username%) then you can use the %homedir% successfully: e.g. %homedir% For the disk quota, use the dfstarget tag to re-map the DFS target back to the source UNC: \\hgss.local\dfs\staffhome$\%username% HTH, Moby -
Hi, If I copy over the files for the 10.4 update, then MyFiles becomes badly broken. As soon as a user opens MyFiles, the MyFiles window displays for a second. Then, a second later, the browser tries to open an address in the format of hap: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 and it does this without the user having clicked on anything or anyfile in MyFiles. The change appears to be a problem in the default.aspx file in MyFiles. If I revert this to the older file, then the problem goes away. Thanks for any suggestions! Yours Moby

OK, will give it a go... Any chance of the attribute being looked up being configurable?? Ta! Moby

Thanks Nick! Are the valid settings in the XML file for access "both", "internal" and "external" ?? On the timetable front, good to hear we don't need Exchange. I don't suppose it would be possible for you to add a config option in the hapconfig.xml so that the AD attribute looked up can be specified? Just that EmployeeID can't be added in column view in AD abUsers + Computers, whereas description/office etc can. It's easier to spot missing Employee IDs this way. Also, it's much easier to edit description/office other fields, than 'EmployeeID' that it only available via the attribute editor tab. Thanks, Moby

Hi Nick, Thanks as always for Home Access Plus+ A few questions if I may, as we look at upgrading from v9 to v10... 1. In v9, the hapconfig.xml drive mappings had a 'enablemove' setting that doesn't appear anymore. What is the default for this setting in v10, or is it no longer needed? 2. In v10, the hapconfig.xml section has an access="both" setting for links. This doesn't appear to be settable in the interface. What does this setting do, and what are the available valid settings for 'access'? Looks interesting! 3. Lastly, to take advantage of the timetable feature in V10, is there any other way of getting the timetable shown, even if we don't have a local Exchange? We have an LEA Exchange system, to which we don't have direct access/federation Thanks again, Moby.

Hi Nick, Moby here again! On the HAP tiles, we see that HAP+ correctly wraps the text in tiles to two lines if the text is too long. This is a great feature as it allows us to put a reasonable amount of text on a tile. However, the text spacing is slightly borked (and in any browser) the second line of text is half-off the tile. Screenshot attached. Can this be tidied / fixed please? Many thanks, Yours, Moby

Hi Nick, I don't mean the SQL transaction logs.... I meant the database holding the web log. If using the free version of SQL Express, then this is limited to a certain size. How to prune? Thanks Moby
-
Hi, Consider the following scenario: 1. A user tries to log in with the wrong ID consistently, until they get the 'Logon banned' for their IP. 2. The message says that they can try again in 30 minutes. The user leaves their web browser open 3. After 30 minutes, the user tries to log in again without restarting their browser. 4. When they try, they recieve a 'Call to undefined' error. The issue does not occur if the web browser is restarted after the 30 minutes timeout and before they try to log in again. Thanks, Moby
-
Hi, Any ideas at all? Does anyone fancy writing a quick SQL script to truncate the log to say, the last 1000 entries? Or is no-one else worried about their log DB/disk drive filling up eventually? Ta Moby!

Hey everyone, Is there a SQL query that I can execute to remove logon tracker entries over a certain age from the SQL logon tracker? Need to prevent my database filling up over time... Thanks! Moby
-
Thanks - that seems to have fixed it Newer file is smaller than the old one, btw.... Thanks again, Moby

Hi, Yes, am using https - although I am using the internal name of the server, e.g. https://localname.local/HAP/ ~ should that make any difference? Something is broken here on fresh install - using SQL database. Regards Moby

Hi Nick, There's not a problem getting the logon server info - The copy of HAP that runs at logoff tries to write NULL or has a problem This causes a) Logoffs and shutdown take a very long time because the client abends, b) Students aren't registered as being logged off and c) Attempts by students to remotely log themselves off (when logging in on another computer) fail. What would you like me to do to test? It looks broken!! Thanks, Moby

Hi Nick, Two issues in the current logon tracker: 1. If the -silent switch is NOT used for group policy deployment, i.e. logon/logoff/startup/shutdown scripts e.g. "HAP Logon Tracker.exe" http://fqdn.local/HAP/ then the logon tracker does operate correctly for logon scripts - although this might be an issue with the scripts asyc setting (currently at default). The bigger problem is 2. If a student logs on for a second time, they have the option to log themselves off the other computer. This feature does not work. When a student on a second computer tries to log themselves off a first computer, the first computer initiates a logoff on the second one, but this fails. The desktop dissappears, but HAP re-appears (before the windows logon screen ever gets a chance to re-appear) and won't allow the logoff. The message is logged in the eventvwr: An error occurred in the Logon Tracker Error: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'logonserver', table 'haptrack.dbo.TrackerEvents'; column does not allow nulls. However, if we set this to allow NULLS, then people are never shows as being logged off when they logoff usually, or when a PC starts. Any thoughts? Thanks Moby

Also any link with the '@' symbol in it now breaks HAP, e.g. Careers Comp@nion

Hi, I've found the problem, and this seems to be a new issue with v9. If a link on a page contains brackets, e.g. a tile with the name "VLE (Usual login)" then the homepage breaks, with all of the icons showing on one page. This did not happen on v8. Please advise. Thanks Moby

Hi, Am already on 9.4. Just tried again, fresh install. It really is broken on 9.0 and 9.4, no joy - or I am doing something really stpudi! Firebug output is TypeError: data[0] is undefined https://xxx.xxxx.sch.uk/testhap/api/js Line 1 Moby

Hokey dokey. Are there any temp folders or cache files that I can easily empty on the server (in addition to blasting the hapconfig.xml file), or is it best to just delete the whole hap tree and start again? Thanks
-
Hi, No, putting in any links/tiles under 'Test' makes no difference. Surely this is broken for everyone on 9.4? Thanks, Moby
-
Hi Nick, Thanks - as always - for your work in HAP+. Two bugs in 9.4 observed in fresh install: 1. For the domain administrator user, a 'Null' appears in the "Me" tile in the main screen. It seems if a user has a samaccountname but no friendly name, a null is shown. 2. If an administrator creates a new link name for the homepage, using the interface (or by editing hapconfig.xml directly) - i.e 'Test' - the four link labels are displayed (e.g. Resources, Management, Me, Test) but all of the icons/buttons for all four of the links are displayed at logon under 'Resources' and the other links don't do anything. Right now, when I logon, 'Me' tile, 'Helpdesk', 'HAP+ Config' are all displayed under Resources. This happens as soon as I create a new link on the home page, using the admin interface. Hope you can help! Yours Moby
