Morning people,

I got my first Android phone, the new S2 so i just wanted to see if there are any cracking apps out there. I only got it last night and not really had much chance to have a play.

I've always been a Blackberry man so it's quite a change!

Any advice is appreciated!

Cheers

Luke :)

CPU Tuner - lets you overclock your phone (if it's rooted yet ;)). I use this to have my phone running as fast as possible until it's battery is down to about 20%, then it reels the power back in a bit to preserve battery

Dropbox - well, it's dropbox!

TitaniumBackup - excellent for backing up all your apps (again, only if you're rooted)

Rom Manager - for easily trying out different ROMs (another root app)

No mention of zdbox? App killer, do not disturb, uninstaller, move to sd card - replaces about 4 other apps.

Also LBE security - tells you what apps are accessing the network / contacts / gps etc, allow & deny as you wish.

Google reader, twitter client, guardian anywhere good for reading material.

Oooh can't NOT have these two, they should be built in to Android: SDWatch (notifies you when you install/update an app that can be moved to the SD card and links you through to the page to do it) and SDMove (Gives a list of all your apps and colour codes them based on SD preferences, with an option to bulk move all possible to SD)

Google Sky is the coolest thing to show off to other people.

Advanced Task Killer really has made a difference to my battery life.

And Vignette (just grab the demo) does some very cool photo effects very quickly.

Oh - and Frozen Bubble is clearly the best game ;)

at least on my tablet google docs is absolute pants the web pages work better

I just find it faster to look through things than the webpage on a phone.

We keep all our network config documents on google so it's handy to look at things like switch configurations when in a cupboard (IDF)

Love a bit of this! Essential on my phone!

Words with Friends is good for playing scrabble on the go with friends.

FML to cheer you up

Winamp for mp3 playback

Visidon for extra security on singular apps (forward facing cam a must for facial recognition!)

MSN Mercury Messenger on the go!

Samsung Galaxy S has swype built in so I guess the S2 does as well.

Divide for secure business use.
