CESIL Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I have just started Spiceworks and during the start up the following message was displayed... "Reticulating Pepper Services" I don't what the h@ll it means...but I like it... ...it may become my new excuse when teachers ask why something is not working... As in "Your laptop has frozen while reticulating pepper services..."
Jawloms Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 We had a problem with our wireless network recently and I've been assured it was something to do with "blocked children being executed". Good thing to hear in a school........
X-13 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 From what I can see, there are a few things like this. The Spiceworks guys seem to have a sense of humour. [Providing it's still there... I can't check it.] Go to the portal, press: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A.
sonofsanta Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Sim City 2000 always used to tell you that it was reticulating splines whilst it loaded. Bookworm Adventures has some good 'uns on start up as well
HaleStorm Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 when you drag and drop the boxes, it looks to be carried by an orange dragon
K.C.Leblanc Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 My Amiga liked the odd spot of Guru Meditation.
Haptic Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 hmm sounds like an "out of cheese error" to me... Mark
smithson83 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 For me you cannot beat some of the windows/POST messages, I'm sure we've all seen 'em Error 404: Keyboard Failure, Press F1 to continue This Folder is shared, if you delete this folder it will nolonger be shared... Shutdown.exe cannot run because this system is shutting down...
Hightower Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 This Folder is shared, if you delete this folder it will nolonger be shared... This one is quite valid to me - it reminds me that it's not just a private folder and that others might be using the data within it.
smithson83 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 This one is quite valid to me - it reminds me that it's not just a private folder and that others might be using the data within it. It has saved me a few times, I just find it amusing (i know it's not technically an error message, more information)
brookesandrew Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 This one ages me, from Apollo Domain (AEGIS) in the mid/late 80's, something like doesn't fit through hatch, so I had to Google to get a reminder: error code 220009 (tape drive) decoded as: "Tape drive will not fit through 25 inch hatch." This refers to a large computer manufacturer (former employer of some of the Apollo OS folks) that once bid on a government contract to supply computing equipment for use on board submarines. They lost the contract when the government discovered that the tape drive would not fit through the 25 inch hatch used to load equipment onto a submarine. Anything that won't fit through the hatch has to be loaded by cutting a hole in the hull.
X-13 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 The konami code? In spiceworks? What does it do? It's supposed to show a picture of a Unicorn. I'm not sure if it's been removed or changed. 1
HaleStorm Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 It's supposed to show a picture of a Unicorn. I'm not sure if it's been removed or changed. its been changed, it asks you to "enable drag and drop" when you click yes and drag something a dragon flys down and carrys it where you want it to go 1
chazzy2501 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 My Amiga liked the odd spot of Guru Meditation. I second this.. best error ever. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Guru_meditation.gif

You don't see enough flying horses these days lol edit: maybe this is version specific but I got a pegasus.
Dos_Box Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I once had this error: An unknown terrible thing has happened! This was using Imagecast years ago.
Little-Miss Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I had an error recently telling me that something had gone wrong and the monkeys were on there way and that when they arrived to give them the information on the page.....still waiting for the monkeys... How do you do this spiceworks thingy? *edit* Flying horse!

sonofsanta Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 If any of you guys have the famous "ImgBurn" app on your machines open it and read what it says in the bootom left corner im sure it will get some laughs..... Never noticed that before - brilliant! I like the exasperated tone it uses when you pick the BIN file instead of the CUE file to burn...
