Rawns Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 @bondbill2k2 - Your rig looks new? Either that or you live in a dust free environment or have a bad case of OCD when it comes to keeping your base unit clean...

localzuk Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 MacBook Pro 17" C2D 2.1Ghz 2GB RAM. Woo! But then, 'gaming' to me is playing Minecraft, or Anno 1503. That sort of thing.

mac_shinobi Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 MacBook Pro 17" C2D 2.1Ghz 2GB RAM. Woo! But then, 'gaming' to me is playing Minecraft, or Anno 1503. That sort of thing. I have a 2008 Mac Pro with 18gb of RAM, waiting on my SSD Order for a corsair force 3 from scan and I have currently an nvidia 8800GT, not enough ££££ for the ATI 5870, would be nice at some point to get one but for the time being I will be ordering more 2tb + hard drives for storage etc so the graphics card can wait. The nvidia copes with Doom 3 and the likes which is good enough for me

Either that or you live in a dust free environment or have a bad case of OCD when it comes to keeping your base unit clean... Those photos were taken not longer after I built it (November 2010) I cleaned it out last week for the first time tho and it was pretty dam dirty, also moved it as the fan vents above the heatsink were against the wall (there is no fan in them yet) but I shall be adding an 80mm fan to there and one to the top of the case blowing upwards to increase air movement along with getting a better heatsink and fan controls soon, once I have a new graphics card Thankfully all the front, top and bottom have foam like filters on them which I can remove and wash too
fafster Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 i5 750 (OC to 3.8GHz) 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 2x Samsung F1 500GB (RAID0) Radeon 4890 with custom cooler, OC'd Figure I'll wait until Skyrim and BF3 are released before making a decision on upgrading the graphics card.
kesomir Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 17" laptop now sits on the right as well and runs moving map and flight logging software over network. Problem with going triple screen wide is that I don't have the hardware to drive that many pixels at an acceptable fram rate! Projector is probably a better path for out of aircraft visuals, with the glass on a separate computer. Next step is probably to get Project Magenta Project Magenta - High End Flight Simulation Software for networked glass systems and then the ultimate: FlightDeckSolutions dual seat dual trainer (to start with) Flight Deck Solutions
