Is anyone else doing something for Red Nose Day? Three of us from the IT team here are having a leg waxed, in the staff room at lunch time! Seemed like a good idea when we suggested it!

We've got half the school gathering to sing the Red Nose Day song, and BBC Points West are coming in to film them.

And at lunch, a bunch of the kids are getting together to do a variety show.

But me? No, I'm just supporting others.

While staff are sporting red noses, we're doing a full dress rehearsal for the school production today. All 101 children between Reception and Year 6. The real thing is next Tuesday. The children are hyper enough already and it's only 8.45am!

Comic Relief has taken a back seat today. We will however be rattling buckets later on when the parents are around!

Theme is "wear something that clashes/lots of colours" So I have, although I do have a Security meeting in County at 10.30 this morning, should be interesting ;)

Got in in mufti this morning - usually can't do it as it is never both schools together - only to find the first 4 teachers I saw weren't in jeans, and one said she hadn't been told that staff could dress down (new head so rules a bit up in the air). So I shot home to change - luckily I only live 5 mins from this school - and when I got back and went into the staff room - THEY WERE ALL IN JEANS!!!!:(

General Mufti- but wear red (Im wearing a red spangly stetson!!). Kids selling cakes at snack time-- better value than most supermarkets!! Name the bear comp in the Primary department-- general fun and games-- lots of gruffalo pics being coloured (this years theme is fictional monsters apparently).

At least the kids are all smiling-- that means its a good day!!!

We are listening to Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave for the 3rd day...now there is dedication for you. If they don't stop soon I will be bankrupt - this texting once an hour is killing me!

Our school is doing nothing at all!! Staff and students no one!! One girl came in with her hair died red and was sent home!! They may be a small bake sale at break time but i havent heard anything about it so probably not!!

Wrong if you ask me! A simple non school uniform day and pay £1 would raise nearly £1k!!

When i was here as a student the teachers used to go in the stocks at lunch time and was £1 for 5 sponges and at break an auction would take place to pour a bucket of water over the teachers head!! Raised a fortune!!!

We've got a wear something wacky on your head... Some real good ones including a yr 4 girl who's mum has made her hair look like a washing line, with pegs and clothes! Brilliant.

As for me, straw cowgirl hat with 2 blonde pigtails, goes well with my goatee! lol

Yep. We're doing 'wear something comical'. (Not much imagination me I'm in my pink stripey socks and slippers.) Kids have loved it - it's been all smiles around here and we had a big parade around the school. Myself and a colleague baked cakes for the staff room and raised £44!! Plus the £300 that the children donated means that we'll have raised around £350. Not bad as we're only a Primary of 320 children.
