3s-gtech Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Agreed with the Intel heatsinks. It's not new, but I just destroyed a LGA775 retail HSF simply by putting it back on. The plastic clips going into the board itself is a stupid idea. AMD has that spot on.
GREED Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Cheap PSUs, although I must say *touch wood* my cheap ass PSU that came with my case has lasted 3 years and now happily runs my AMD Phenom II X4 with 8GB RAM... oh, and any more jokes about *Touch Wood* and we'll have a words... lol
LosOjos Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Badly laid out MoBo's are a huge annoyance for me: my brothers PC's MoBo has a little bank of capacitors sat right next to the AGP locking clip, positioned perfectly for getting snapped off if your finger slips

I used to have nightmares about the screwdriver slipping and putting a hole straight into the motherboard :X My Intel Core i7 920 heatsink was stressless, just 4 clips pushed in without a ton of pressure required.

THE NAPKIN FROM LAST WEEKS KEBAB IS MORE SUITED TO HOLD THAT LABEL THAN YOUR MONITOR! Oh, and labelling stuff as different and charging for it for absolutely no difference whatsoever.... Yes I'm looking at you cable manufacturers who released "Sata3.0" cables THAT ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS SATA2.0 CABLES!

HDCP only applies to those two last i heard, VGA socket has no HDCP compliance...

gshaw Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) - stupid SATA cables that don't clip in properly leading to disk errors when the cable works loose - side mounted SATA ports on my DFI mobo that make adding extra cables an absolute nightmare once the board is in the case - Intel heatsinks as previously mentioned - Windows 7's obsession with constantly rattling the hard disk when the machine should be idle... best fix I've found so far is to replace said hard disk with an SSD - anything from Adobe that needs updating every nanosecond to fix whatever security hole they've left in this week - Firefox updates... each one seems to make it slower and more bloated... moving to Google Chrome now even though I still have concerns over privacy... MACS I'm the other way around now since Apple have moved to Intel - They are behind a bit on the hardware side which is a shame as light peak, SATA 6gbps and USB 3.0 would be nice on a 2010 Mac Pro. I hate windows

I hate windows Those features on a Mac would probably cost more than a new car I think the main reason I can't stand Apple is the absolutely ridiculous prices they charge for hardware that can be bought much, much cheaper elsewhere! Then again, I'm a Linux convert, so I won't pay for anything I don't legally have to!
