good couple of inches here in Cartmel, South Cumbria (photos from my office window attached), more snow in Kendal where I live. My little vitara (pictured) suddenly ceases to be the butt of jokes in our house on days like this

 

(yes that is a box of fanfold paper on the windowsill)

 

 

Edit: Oh and we're open but the kids aren't allowed outside on H+S grounds - bless 'em!

Had snow here in Derby - had fun by passing the Husky's lead to my GF and inciting said Husky to run around in the snow and ice (Then watching GF slide around pulled by a hyper dog!)

Well I'm in today, despite my car refusing to start (it coughed, started, took foot off accelerator, and it promptly died and refused to start again.)

 

The heaviest snow for me is forecast in the next 2 hours, then basically going to lightly snow for the next 18 hours. I suspect, that I will be in all this week

It was like that when I was at school in Bedfordshire. I think most kids in Dundee could walk to their local school, however Dundee City council have announced they're all closed today. Yesterday the bus company stopped running all buses at 5pm due to the weather, and aren't running some services at all today.

The announcement regarding the buses in my area not running to the terminus is sufficiently vague for me to be unable to work out where they're running, and so whether it's practical to walk there or not.

Same here. Buses turned up withouth notice lunch time Friday which meant the kids thought they were going home early.... Chaos and wild kids then followed. In the end the school closed 15 minutes early!

Ah joys, my boss had the delight of being Scrooge this morning during 1st period of going round all classes and informing them that snow is not to be thrown after we had a first aid incident involing snowy / icey balls and peoples eyes!

 

We were open today but local village roads were chaos, I had to get taken to work as the Golf just isn't cut out for snowy icy hills, too much power and big fat wide tyres = no go up them! Stupid weather!

 

More snow expected tonight but I think it may just freeze the whatsits off thus making lots of sheet ice roads

Nostalgia it goes in the Oki Microline 391 Elite 24 pin dot matrix printer just out of shot - used in situations where a wind-up is needed, like when the Head of PE comes to me for ANOTHER behaviour report from SIMS, despite me setting up ones in his favourites that he knows fine well how to run:rolleyes:

less than an inch of snow in Luton in most places, it was funny listening to the weather report. only a few miles east of me schools are closed, roads are impassable, all sorts of fun.

 

I miss that snow we had about 5 years ago in like march or something like that...

Working in a PC repair centre, listening to the radio and them giving reports about snow starting to cause trouble. Just about lunchtime we look out the window and see the snow start to come down steadily but light, and catch the radio news about gridlock in surrounding areas.

We stood looking out the window, and decided it was time to get out while we could. In the time it took to walk to the next room, shutdown pc's and put on coats, then walk out the door an inch had fallen. By the time i got the car out the carpark, which was less than 25 metres across, another inch had fallen. By the time I'd travelled the 100 yards towards the traffic lights at the end of the road, I had to get out and clear the 3-6 inches of snow that were building up so thick the wipers couldn't move it.

It took me another 1 1/2 hours to travel 1.2 miles down the road to where my parents lived, trying to drive through over a foot of snow and hoping none of the other idiots on the road slammed on the brakes, because they simply didn't work in those conditions.
