Any Linux gamers here?

Who has tried running games lately? I've got WoW to work almost flawlessly before the patch, others like MW2 have brought up sound/FPS issues unfortunately. Some of the unexpected results have been pretty funny though.

 

Been using a mix of PlayOnLinux/WINE and pre-installed games from my Windows partition. Any tips for troubleshooting stuff? What have you got working well on Linux?

I play World of Warcraft mainly, some FPS like Half Life, Mafia, Doom3, sometimes The SIMs3 and I also like Neuzuiz and Hedgewars.

I got World of Warcraft running last night. That was an achievement in itself after days of testing, fixing, re-testing and repeat. It's definately not for the faint hearted!

Cedega is still going? I tried something called PlayOnLinux but that failed big time, so I removed it and found straight up no-frills WINE easier.

Yeah, it's still going, I tend to swap between wine and cedega depending on what I want. I am addicted to Starcraft 2 now, never thought I would like a strategy game but its cool, don't have much time to play it though as Warcraft eats up my life!

Starcraft 2 absolutely! are u using wine or cedega to run sc2?

- City of Heroes (add -renderthread 0 when launching it).

- Civ V (and thus, Steam).

Just decided last night to archive the windows hard drive, and install Mint 10 - very nice.

 

Games? Ah, well, I'm a Guild Wars addict, so it was a case of getting Guild Wars and Teamspeak 3 up and running.

Played EVE Online on some ubuntu based machines, takes forever to configure to work, otherwise all you get is the UI and no display in the centre, just black space.
