CAM Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Who has tried running games lately? I've got WoW to work almost flawlessly before the patch, others like MW2 have brought up sound/FPS issues unfortunately. Some of the unexpected results have been pretty funny though. Been using a mix of PlayOnLinux/WINE and pre-installed games from my Windows partition. Any tips for troubleshooting stuff? What have you got working well on Linux?
RabbieBurns Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 I play minesweeper in ubuntu all the time...
powdarrmonkey Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Osmos (Hemisphere Games Osmos –) It's beautiful, mind-bendingly frustrating, and comes packaged in .deb and .rpm. 2
linuxgirlie Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 I play World of Warcraft mainly, some FPS like Half Life, Mafia, Doom3, sometimes The SIMs3 and I also like Neuzuiz and Hedgewars.
CAM Posted October 22, 2010 Author Report Posted October 22, 2010 I got World of Warcraft running last night. That was an achievement in itself after days of testing, fixing, re-testing and repeat. It's definately not for the faint hearted!

CAM Posted October 24, 2010 Author Report Posted October 24, 2010 Ah, I use cedega, and it is just install and play. Cedega is still going? I tried something called PlayOnLinux but that failed big time, so I removed it and found straight up no-frills WINE easier.
linuxgirlie Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Yeah, it's still going, I tend to swap between wine and cedega depending on what I want. I am addicted to Starcraft 2 now, never thought I would like a strategy game but its cool, don't have much time to play it though as Warcraft eats up my life!
NixNerd Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I tend to enjoy openarena OpenArena and Urban Terror Urban Terror 1

Chunky Posted November 26, 2010 Report Posted November 26, 2010 Just decided last night to archive the windows hard drive, and install Mint 10 - very nice. Games? Ah, well, I'm a Guild Wars addict, so it was a case of getting Guild Wars and Teamspeak 3 up and running. (Oh, I'm Ele Cymru ingame, if anyone wants to say "hi!") Chunks.

Linux_Nut Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Played EVE Online on some ubuntu based machines, takes forever to configure to work, otherwise all you get is the UI and no display in the centre, just black space.
