Anyone had this illness

Had this odd illness go through our house. It starts off with you feeling rubbish and really really tied, trouble sleeping for a day then back to just feeling rubbish. You feel like that number of days (never being sick or anything just like you been hit by a train). Then get a chronic head ache and get that for about 4 days then start to feel fine.

 

Slowly work its way around our house just wondered if anyone else got it or just our house.

Have you felt faint, Russdev? I come down with something that sounds similar. I was in bed for a couple of days, never sick, but just had no energy. I got up one night to go make a hot bovril and on the way back to my bedroom fainted and collapsed on the clothes horse and broke it! They're not cheap!

Sounds similar to the symptoms I suffered when I was diagnosed with CFS/ME. Obviously isn't though if it's "going through the house".

That's because I have 2 small children. The word 'child' should be replaced with 'plague carrier' IMHO.

At time i did think about that. But no not used any gas appliances and also felt like it at work as well..

 

Just really wiped us all out and the fact it took me two weeks to get over it fully is strange (I get illness for day sleep and then i am fine most times)

Had something very similar back in uni. Took me about 2 weeks to get over too, affected my ex too. I too suspected co poisoning, and had some detectors installed but it wasn't that. Never did find out what it was though.

Sounds like glandular fever to me - that often takes a long time to get over and recurs a lot:

recurrent tonsillitis

chronic sore throat and swollen lymp glands in the neck.

aches and pains in the limbs.

brain fag - not being able to find the right words.

lack of concentration

depression (feeling very low)

deep lethargy

not being able to stand lots of noise, people or strong smells (perfume, cleaning materials etc.) .

not feeling all there

digestive inbalance - bloating and pain often cited in lower abdomen."

Sounds like normal 'everyday life' to me.

 

It starts off with you feeling rubbish and really really tied

Getting up.

trouble sleeping for a day then back to just feeling rubbish.

Finishing work.

You feel like that number of days (never being sick or anything just like you been hit by a train).

Every day at work - [ train can be replaced with 'teachers' ]

Then get a chronic head ache and get that for about 4 days

Starts Friday and goes on till around Tuesday.....

Oh dear....I've felt rather like that for the last week or so. I just put it down to a hectic year so far and lack of decent sleep

@Witch, sorry to put an end to your budding career as a GP but the OP has only 2 of your enormous list of symptoms. Also glandular fever lasts for ages and only really seems to affect certain age groups so fairly unlikely.

@russdev, it's more likely to be a non-descript virus, especially since it apparently passed fairly quickly around the household. If there are no lasting symptoms I wouldn't worry about it. Chalk it up as one more thing your immune system's successfully beaten!
