ranj Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Hi Just wanted to ask if other 02 users are having problems at 20.47 hours. Trying to ring peeps and keep getting connection error on my phone, even after turning it off and back on. Anyone else having similar issues?
ZeroHour Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I have not noticed anything. If calls are failing its generally a mast issue rather then network wide. Data on the other hand.....
Edu-IT Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) o2 have confirmed there is an issue and they hope to have it back up during the night. (From a Facebook contact who called them) Twitter is a good place to look too. http://search.twitter.com/search?q=o2 A map showing affecting locations from users. http://iso2downforyou.heroku.com/ o2 also confirmed it on Twitter. "There's an issue affecting our service in some of the UK. Sorry - our engineers are investigating and we'll update you when we can." Edited May 11, 2010 by Edu-IT
glennda Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 My o2 phone is working as of 22:40 and broadband has been up all night
EduTech Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I know one thing for sure, i am not on o2 but tried to contact them earlier.. twice in fact to query a problem and both times they said hello and they the line went dead.. :\ i was like that was nice.. so phoned orange instead who were a great help lol --- Off Topic i Know! --- but seeing this might have something to do with the issues calling them earlier.
glennda Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Infact my phone worked about 25 past nine when i used it then, Im right down south so could just be a problem in Birmingham area.
Devontechie Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) Its down in South Devon. Edit: Just found this on Facebook! Cameron killed O2, what's next? | Facebook Edited May 11, 2010 by Devontechie
MatthewL Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I'm on Orange and had problems earlier, got my mate on O2 to text and I've sent texts to O2 and its not worked yet. Phoned through ok from Vodafone to O2 ok.

Call volume. Probably their phone system couldn't cope. "There has been a network failure at a YATEs point where construction work has knocked off the power. The whole of the O2 network in the UK is having problems due to this and have no timescales to when this will be fixed. Customer services had over a thousand people in the queue by the time it got to 8:45pm and most advisors would have been unaware until this point. Also affects Orange and Vodafone."
PEO Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 lots of people reporting O2 been down. maybe upgrading for the new iphone??? lol
Edu-IT Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 So much ranting on the o2 forum. I'm sure they're working to fix the issue, people don't like being separated from their mobile do they?!
pooley Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 My 02 Iphone working fine but my sons 02 phone is not working at all. Glad I checked on here, thought it was a rob with his sim/handset

paulmw72 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 The O2 3G network are having problems, to re-connect to the network while there are problems, you need to go into your phones settings and change the network config from dual mode or 3G to GSM, you should be able to connect to the network. Don't forget to change your phone settings back once the problem has been fixed.
webman Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 "There has been a network failure at a YATEs point where construction work has knocked off the power. The whole of the O2 network in the UK is having problems due to this and have no timescales to when this will be fixed." One would have thought a national mobile phone network operator would have some form of resilience against that sort of failure.
mjs_mjs Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 my phone hasn't had a connection since 3am, no network coverage and filing to connect to all other networks. still playing up.

glennda Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 my phone hasn't had a connection since 3am, no network coverage and filing to connect to all other networks. still playing up. I've not had a problem - most likly down to the local area do you mean failing to connect to other networks? could it actually be the phone?
mjs_mjs Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 well i thought it was the phone - looked like it was in flight mode, but other people at work are having the same issues.
JPS Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 My o2 is fine here in East London, but a friend of mine has been told that all of Kent and London are not operational and they are aimimg to resume normal service by midday.
gl3nnym Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I am in South London and got no network here at all. Feel lost! To be fair it's the first issue I have ever had with them.
