Which says below 5 year or 10,000 hours light source warranty, whichever comes first appplies to UK education establishments only.

I was also concerned about the warranty, but if it is 5 years for education, this school will be a new build in under 4 thanks to BSF.

I have so far found no concrete evidence that states the warranty of this projector Yes the lamp life is estimated as up to 20,000 hours, but what happens 3 years down the line when it overheats as a fan has stopped, or the power does not start? Having 10,000 hours life left in my lamp is not going to help. Unless we begin a carbon trading scheme with lamp life hours. People have earlier in the forum bandied about a 5 year warranty, but I cannot find anything on Casio's website. I have found the following spec sheet, but again it does not mention warranty. It's also on the literature I picked up at BETT from the Casio stand. Even assuming that the projector is only going to last the 5 years then the TCO verus a projector with a lamp are pretty similar given the pricing I've been getting. We're probably going to be going for the XJ-A140 - 2500 lumens so right in the middle of the range. We've been trying to spec 2200 - 2600 lumens projectors for the past year or two due to problems with light so will be good to see how well these projectors handle it

localzuk Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Let me check I've got this straight - I would plug the VHS player (or whatever) into the converter, and then the PC-output and converter-output into the splitter and the splitter-output into the projector - right? Yep, that'd be right.

Upon purchasing it there was a bit of paper in the box that mentioned some hoops to jump through to get this warranty. The AV Interactive website does mention a 5 year warranty, but they are not Casio The casio pdf states a 3 year warranty, or 6,000 hours. Please link me to a casio document Cheers

SimpleSi Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Toshiba decided to enter projector market and did a good deal on projector warranties for education - 3 years projector cover and all you can eat bulbs However, now we are at the end of the 3 year deal, the supply of bulbs is very very slow and Toshiba don't make projectors anymore and can't source a replacement for a broken one that broke over 3 months ago and can't decide what to do Just a bit of food for thought regards Simon

The education warranty is DEFINITELY 5 years. The 3 year warranty is a bit confusing but as has been pointed out that is the non educational warranty. Sylv3r good luck with that.

I have the main guys from Casio coming in to see me today and they are going to confirm with me what connection leads come with the unit however I believe it may be supplied with a phono audio and video composite to 3.5mj lead in the box. I will confirm this and post later. If anyone has any other questions for them ask now and I will make sure I put it to them.
