garethEds Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Ow, what's occurin - I won't like to you Uncle Bryn but Gavin and Stacey is back and on BBC 1 this Tursday at 9pm. Tidy GJE
dalsoth Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 One of the best shows on tv, along with the inbetweeners.
Rawns Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Looking forward to this! So is the other half!
t_h Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 It's so funny. Has a great soundtrack too. I'd love to have a pint with Bryn!
dalsoth Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Never watched it. Good then? It is so ordinary and yet not. I guess that is what makes it so special. I just happened to watch an episode one day and was hooked. Watch the rest of the shows before you watch the new ones though so you don't miss out. Must be on iPlayer or Youtube somewhere. Smithy and Bryn are the best. Love the scene where they are both doin excercises in Bryns bedroom gym.
Sylv3r Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I must admit I've not watched it prior to the christmas special which was on the other night, it was pretty good so i'll be putting the Series 1 and 2 DVD's on my christmas list.
Theblacksheep Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Makes me turn over quicker than the mighty boosh.
ICTSM Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I must admit, I had never heard of it until today. With character names like Shipman and Sutcliffe, I'm rather glad.
garethEds Posted November 27, 2009 Author Posted November 27, 2009 It's so funny. Has a great soundtrack too. I'd love to have a pint with Bryn! Owain Hughes? And before you ask - no he doesn't. GJE
Iain.Faulkner Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Makes me turn over quicker than the mighty boosh. And there was me thinking I was the only one....I've seen a couple of episodes and I do not feel the slightest need to laugh. Chris Moyles was playing a clip this morning, billing it as the funniest bit from last nights show....someone reading out a list of food and another saying that someone else is doing it.......is this what passes as comedy?
srochford Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 And there was me thinking I was the only one....I've seen a couple of episodes and I do not feel the slightest need to laugh. I think that's the point about comedy (or pretty much any "art") - different people like different things. I think Gavin and Stacey is very funny but I can't stand Ricky Gervais, for example.
Chunky Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 My favority bit was Bryn poking his head through the window saying.. "I've packed you some sandwiches:- cheese and pickle, cheese and ham, cheese and tomato... and just cheese. it's a veritable smorgasbord of sandwiches." LMAO!
KWestos Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 The scripting is appalling! Most of the characters seem to have no distinction between them. It is poorly, poorly written. I have to agree, comedy is a personal choice, but this is timeless tosh!
t_h Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Owain Hughes? And before you ask - no he doesn't. GJE Shut it you slaaag!
