Just a little note about ICT Direct (2nd user equipment specialists)

I bought some machines from them 18 months ago and a few of them stopped working (thnks to contink :) )over the summer hols - so I rang up and asked if there was anything they could do for me and they replaced the machines free gratis and way outside the warranty :)

That's what I call customer service :)

regards

Simon

PS Lots of server type kit in stock for those of you who fancy your own data centre :)

Eloped? Ran screaming into a stream of molten lava?... :) :getmecoat:

ICT Direct sound great. For those of us down South, I'd also recommend re-sales.net:

Welcome to Re-Sales.net

We had some TFT monitors off them over the summer - 15" Dell monitors that can rotate left, right, up, down and spin 90 degrees and with a built-in USB hub in the side of the screen for £27 each.

Eloped? Ran screaming into a stream of molten lava?...

:-) Rather sweet mental image of two computers eloping together now...

Just wanted to put a post up here to thank John Graham and team at ICT Direct for a cracking deal on some HP Desktops for work. They are great spec (C2D, 2GB Ram, DVD-RW etc) and still have around 2 years HP warranty on them, for a great price.

As I'm local to him I popped and collected them and they made me feel very welcome which was lovely. He gave me a tour of his unit and WOW I've never seen so much stuff. If you are looking for something that bit unusual then you never know he may just have it, he has boxes of bits and bobs from all over the place. I found bits on shelves that I've needed in the past (not now i'm afraid) but just looking around some very unusual bits and bats but a great place and great people.

I also got a cracking deal on a new HTC phone for myself from him as well as a UPS for my local charity that I support.

So a full 10/10 for John and team at ICT Direct, and I hope that I will be buying much more good stuff from him in the future!

PS- If you want a bit of history he's got a lot of ex-Yahoo servers in at present so if you want a bit of history and a story behind your servers, then get a couple of the Yahoo servers bought you won't go wrong :)

Just wondering, were those the limited availability units priced at £225 each, which have now disappeared from the site? They were a good price and had we needed just a couple extra at this moment in time, we would have looked into those - they did seem a cracking spec for the price!

Pity they're all gone now though! Lets hope any future ones don't go up in price due to the apparant popularity over them!

Yup they sure were :D Got 3 sitting in my dining room awaiting me taking them back in work next week, if I'd have seen them earlier and had more I would have had 30 of them and re-done an IT room in them, but John knows I'm on the future hunt for next time so fingers crossed he gets some more in the future :)

I also don't think John will do that, if he gets them at the right price I am sure he will not just get greedy and stuff the price through the roof just for sheer profits sakes (or at least hope he won't, he certainly doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to do that!)

As for any racks, eer he had some racks with stuff in them and bits and bobs but can't remember sizing etc, so best drop him a line or give him a call next week and ask. He has looooooooooads of stuff its amazing, he should take a big photo to show the sheer scale of it its that amazing!

Any 38/42u rack cabinets available?

They are always getting racks in. If they haven't got what you want then they can get it. Give them a call.

Must say a big thanks to John. Such short notice, still turned round a big order :-) Super machines, super cost, and the benefit of knowing the support is there if I need it. Thanks again... look forward to more business with you!

I was in tehre today picking up a coupelk of extra monitors for the EduGeek office when it occured to me that I needed a second graphics card to power them off. John duly went up to a pile of 'spares' and after we discounted a PCI Matrox card and a Voodoo 3 AGP card handed me an Nvidia Quadro fx card with the words 'Here, have this'.

I love ICT Direct :)

Mega Thanks to John @ ICT Direct today!

My PC at work has been driving me nuts, phoned the firm up who made it and its out of warranty so they say, so got that pee'd off (spent all yesterday playing around with it, work mounting up etc) so decided at 10am stuff it, fine its 18 months old or so but I cannot cope without a PC and the ye-olde laptop I was using wasn't cutting mustard so not got time to mess around with parts (prob needs a new mobo and PSU as the PSU is cheap crud in it and the board, if its like the other 120 or so Asus ones we have, is now starting to dye a slow and painful death), not having time to wait for a new Mobo and PSU to come tomorrow and find its not them or something else go wrong though right I need a new PC now, what can I do.

So, I Phoned John up at 10:30 and asked what he had in the way of decent PC for me, he said he had a HP Pro Workstation with a good spec and would call me back in 10 mins or so when he checked the cost and exact spec for me, he did me a great deal on a one off HP Pro Workstation he had in, got the PO signed that minute and said to him I will see you in 1hr or so. Got there to him in record time and he had it all there ready and waiting for me:)

MEGA thanks to John once again, Excellent support and Service as ever and I owe you a huge favour for doing that for me, I'm not a big fan of rushing and saying I need it now as I did today, but I am very grateful, so this afternoon and evening (before our open evening event that I was needed for) I've been busy building up my PC again, gosh its so nice to have a stable and good PC!

No excuses now for me I guess, but just goes to show that its worth every penny having good supplier relationships and knowing them well (and being located in the right part of the UK!)

I've had a load of monitors fail lately so decided it was time to buy 60(!) new ones. I also needed some replacement keyboards/mice. John found me some 17" HP monitors (slightly used of course) for a bargain price and decided to chuck in the keyboards and mice for free!

To add to the craziness, I needed 15 monitors ASAP because the failures were getting out of hand (7 machines down in one of the IT suites alone!) so I shot down to Ribchester that afternoon and we managed to squeeze 15 monitors into my CLK.

Brilliant! Saved probably £2,500 over any of the other quotes I received!

15 TFTs in the CLK thats a bit amazing in that thing, it has no boot space from the outside looks! You should have taken photos!

Just bought a HP CLJ5550dn from ICT-Direct. Was going to go for one of the refurbs, but when John managed to get hold of one that had never been used (alas slightly discoloured) he called me straight away and offered that instead!

I can't thank John enough - fantastic service! There is always a bit of waryness when buying anything refurbished here (which we intended to do with this printer), however as we have used ICT-Direct in the past and always had fanstatic service, it wasn't a problem!

John, your efforts are much appreciated!
