Jay_Jay Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I played the 2 previous COD's and thought they were good, I'm not a full on gamer but have a xbox 360 for those times when your a bit bored, I only went out of my way to buy this one because of the price, I think average price for console games is about £40-£50
TechMonkey Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 No idea but £26 for game. It's the guys version of "but honey the shoes were in the sale, they were a bargain"
Hightower Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 I'm not a gamer at all, but COD4 got me hooked. Wasn't so keen on COD5, but can't wait to get home tonight and play MW2. I don't like the single player (even though it looks immense, games bore me) - I'm just in it for the online action. Anyone wanna game tonight on PS3 then add me Hightower_Geek
elsiegee40 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 My Year 9 son, just home from school, has reported a large number odf absences with X-Boxitis today... a quick look at Facebook has verified this
featured_spectre Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Co-Op mode is fantastic! Spent about 3 hours going through it all on veteran with a friend of mine. Then started playing multiplayer, and ranked upto lvl 62 and called it a night at 4:20am.
ZeroHour Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I bought the ps3 version and it's a mess of bugs. I am so tempted to take it back and get the 360 version now
Arcath Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I played it for a while yesterday and its excellent, the only thing i find annoying is the friendly AI. When you see them ducked behind a wall ahead of you you assume that the path between you and them is clear and you can run up and join them, where as in reality the enemy are still there and just watched him run up so you get raped and what does the friendly AI do hop the wall and keep going.
featured_spectre Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Another thing that annoyed me is that there is no lean left / right functions on PC version!
Jamo Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 What do you expect, its not balanced for lean after all. I'm so annoyed with IW! COD4 > COD6 Quake > COD6 Wolfenstein > COD6 Ill stop now
JJonas Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 The local Sainsburys had 100 people queued up yesterday when they opened, and its not even a big town. Right NO SPOILERS please but is the storyline better than COD4:Modern Warfare. I'm up to "Contingency" at the moment and its good but i dont think its COD4 good.
featured_spectre Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 its the follow on, from Act II onwards its better IMO.
kevbaz Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 just finished it thought it was poor very short and simple even from my death bed.. atleast theyve tried to make a raping online a little bit more easier on the stress levels by adding in the ingame perks and stuff. cod4 was way cooler with a better storyline and more "thats cool" moments aka c-130 spooky level (nothing like it in mw2)
CHR1S Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 (edited) @nephilim - Lv62 in what 8 hrs? I consider myself to be pretty good at the game and in just under 6 hrs got to I think level 22 and I was drinking lol! How the hell did you do that? Ive only played MP so far and it seems good, still suffers from lag big time (as in the I fired a whole clip and the bloke still didnt die then kills me with a single head shot from 4 feet away problem) I like the perks and how they are implemented and the remake of the COD1 map brought back memories, cant think of its name right now At the moment I still prefer MWF1 but it still has time to grow on me EDIT - the map is brecourt!! Jamo Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Just a thought, what are the average pings people are experiencing on the servers? as a lot will be p2p setup?
AyatollahPies Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Morrisons are also doing it for £26, and amazon is £32 for xbox 360. I saw the airport level this morning, and man I can see why some people are upset by it!! Yep. I'll wait until I've finished the game before making my mind up fully, but so far I see it as being completely unneccesary.

Still not as fantastic as the C-130 though. I'm mixed at the airport level. It did leave me feeling a little cold but I can see how it fit into the story. & it certainly had impact.
gpjt Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Don't know how lucky i was! Pre ordered it on coolshop.co.uk and it arrived Saturday morning!!!! How chuffed was I. At the time it was the cheapest on the internet at £37. Well pleased as it came on Sat. Funny in the office too as the other non legit copies being played one of the two got banned! I did laugh!
mattmoo Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Been playing since yesterday and think its ace so no complaints here. mattmoouk on XBL if anyone else is sad enough to have booked time off to play like me haha Thanks Matt

I consider myself to be pretty good at the game and in just under 6 hrs got to I think level 22 and I was drinking lol! How the hell did you do that? Played for 8 hours solid, Free for all. Ended up getting around 60 kills per map cycle! Not only that, I ended up stopping alot of peoples kill streaks etc which bounced up my score!
CHR1S Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Ahhh I play TDM as my prefered choice, might give FFA a go tonight.
Arcath Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 i prefer search and destroy and sabotage, i need a reason to kill the enemy and go places
timbo343 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I bought MW2 the other night for PC. The only trouble is i sometimes keep getting this random error: Error Insufficient free disk space. Please free at least 5mb of free space on game drive. Now, i have 50Gb of space on the "game drive" and my system spec is a follows: Processor: Intel Quad Core 2.5Ghz Q8300 Memory/RAM: 4Gb OS: Windows XP Sp3 Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD4350 512mb PCI-E with the latest drivers from ATI/AMD. I have contacted Activision about this as there seems to be others that are having the same issue, but no-one has found a fix for it yet. Anyway, has anyone else bought it for the PC yet? Tim

Perhaps a bit jaded in saying but the airport level was fun! Especially going in and finishing off the wounded. Now I know that will shock some of you but to me its a game, there is no link to reality for me just as I enjoy violent films. I think this is where the "do gooders" miss the point that as a mature adult I can tell the moral difference between right and wrong, real and pretend and I would never ever wonder into an Airport and kill everyone there without prior mental problems! I think giving people the choice to skip it was the right one, you cant post a message at the start of a film to say "by the way, you might be offended by a bit 15 minutes in, maybe close your eyes" Hey ho

I think giving people the choice to skip it was the right one, you cant post a message at the start of a film to say "by the way, you might be offended by a bit 15 minutes in, maybe close your eyes" Hey ho The thing is that throughout the game, you get penalised for shooting innocents or committing a spot of friendly fire, then you are faced with a level where it's all thrown out of the window and you do the complete opposite. There is no way that you could justify that level of killings of innocents in order to go undercover. I still don't think the playable aspect of that level was necessary. Maybe I'm just turning into an old fuddy duddy.
ZeroHour Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 I am not sure if it was essential as such but tbh I didnt care, it was all part of the game and I realised as much. I know it would have been okay with a cut scene (and I wouldnt have minded that) but they saw it as a publicity thing probably but the fact it was in neither increased/decreased my impression of the game. To me its all a game and I know when I power off I wont be going to the airport to relive the experience. I do hate PC gone mad tbh so if I was honest I am glad they put the option in based on that alone.
