Yet again I have messed up, I have backed up the whole folder and tried to do the update, and couldn't get logged into the admin area, it just hangs at logging in.

This is the same if I try and start a fresh website. See attached, this is from starting a fresh.

Have you editied the settings.asp file in the incs folder?

Also make sure you don't have any cached files in your browser as that will cause a problem.

Any ideas on system requirements for this ICTNUT? I was running the older version on an old dell rack server (850mhz celeron, 512 ram) and it ran perfectly fine.

I've done a fresh install of this, but as soon as I try to access ether front end or back end, CPU rockets up to 100% and stays there.

thanks in advance.

OK Fix has been posted up online so anyone doing a new install please donwload the pack and do a clean install

For those that are upgrading I forgot to add a column to one of the tables so to fix it do the following:

1 - Open the Access database (netmon.mdb)

2 - Open the tblservers table in design veiw (right click on the table)

3 - In the row under check_type add exclude with a data type of Yes/No

4 - Close the database saving any changes you should be good to go now.

Sorry once again.

OK, I can get into the admin web i/face to the "add item" popup, but when I fill in the details and click "add item", nothing seems to happen. The dialog box doesn't disappear.

The only thing I didn't do in the install guide was untick the "allow anonymous access" thinking that it would allow staff to see the status of servers etc without a need for login, after all the back-end is password protected anyway?

Thanks again.

Have you ensured that the data folder has write access by the IUSR_machinename account?

When you add anything to the database a status response is triggered which would close that dialog window, looks to me like the insert is failing and that could only mean permissions.

I gave guest account write in IIS manager at time of install, as per install guide and also checked NTFS permissions on the database itself and internet guest account is definitely there with write permissions.

- Edit, sorry my bad; Internet Guest had Allow (which I had set) and Deny, deny was inherited from parent folder.

Removed the inheritable permissions and that has sorted it :)

Cheers

Been playing a little more. I can add servers to the database and they save. When I go back to the "home screen" I get the spinning circle as it's checking and then it just disappears. I'm guessing there should be a green tick there like in the screenshot(s)?

The bottom image (shortcut to admin area) shows up fine so I don't think it's permissions on the images folder this time?

Cheers

Am getting the same thing, although two 'ticks' do appear.

@ICTNUT, I copied my details from the tables into the new database and all are showing but are doing as above now, with the ticks not appearing, but the 'downs' do appear OK.

Any chance of a screenshot?

Also if you place the mouse over where the tick should be do you get any message?
