ICTNUT Posted November 18, 2009 Author Posted November 18, 2009 @Big_Dave: Did you say you did not take the tick out of the Anonymous access box when you created the site? This is required as the site uses impersonation based on the user who accesses the monitor, at the moment there is no anonymous access to the status display.
Big_Dave Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Have just deleted and re-created the website with the tick removed and that is indeed working. Thanks Ideally I would have liked staff being able to access the status page anonymously, but it's no problem;l I'm guessing I can re-install v1.2 alongside it with a different name, for staff to access anonymously 1

mullet_man Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Hi ICTNUT, I have noticed an error, don't know if its us or a global problem. Add New Item button only works when using the servers tab, but didn't for me add a new item, seemed to add a blank row to the database though. Stevo. 1

ICTNUT Posted November 20, 2009 Author Posted November 20, 2009 @Mullet_Man: I can confirm that the add new item button only works on the servers tab. I have tested this and items added are being added correctly. Looking at fixing this over the weekend and will post a fix up then for it. 1
mullet_man Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Thats great ICTNUT! Thanks again! Stevo.
Edu-IT Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I think I'm being a bit thick. I've added a new website, it's under OP SmartMonitor in IIS. I'm confused as to what next? I can go to http://intranet/opsm and it says 404 denied. I've looked on the site at the instructions but being a Friday, it's going over my head. I've set the host header as opsm.ourdomain.internal
Edu-IT Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Anyone who has the installed able to talk me through the final stages of installation, as that is where I got confused. I created the CNAME but it just points to the intranet page.
IanT Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I've just installed the latest one, very good indeed. Question, how do I now change "OP SmartMonitor" on the main page to my school name, I was able to do that in the older versions

I created the CNAME but it just points to the intranet page. You need to make sure your CNAME points to your IP of your server hosting your page with the header of opsm.ourdomain.internal.
Edu-IT Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Okay. So I have opsm.ourdomain.internal set as the host and the CNAME opsm with the FQDN as server-001.domain.internal. Correct?

Edu-IT Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Yes but going to http://opsm.domain.internal brings up nothing and going to http://opsm/ brings up the Intranet page.
mullet_man Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Yes but going to http://opsm.domain.internal brings up nothing and going to http://opsm/ brings up the Intranet page. Is http://opsm.domain.internal what you used when setting up in IIS?
Edu-IT Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 That's the host header, yes. http://intranet/opsm shows a 403
mullet_man Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I used servmon.ourdomain.local Our FQDN is servmon.ourdomain.local and FQDN for tartget host is server.ourdomain.local That seems to work for us. Also do you have the address lised as a proxy bypass?
Edu-IT Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 (edited) Done! Okay, so I added http://servmon.ourdomain.internal to the proxy exception list and it's stopped http://helpdesk from working now. Edited November 23, 2009 by Edu-IT
mullet_man Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Done! Okay, so I added http://servmon.ourdomain.internal to the proxy exception list and it's stopped http://helpdesk from working now. Whatever URL you used during your IIS setup you need to add in your FQDN in DNS, I added *.local in my expections in IE. 1
Edu-IT Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Got it, it was my fault, I typed something wrong in the exceptions. Thanks a lot pal!
mullet_man Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Cool glad your working now!! Its really handy this, esp good when you get a call about something thats the other end of school, you check if the wireless/printer is up. Stevo.
Edu-IT Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Adding items on the printers/wireless page doesn't work? The button does nothing. Servers is fine however.
