Fatmas Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 The Fifa 10 demo is available on XBLM (and I presume, PSN). Has anybody else played it and if so, what do they think? Personally gameplay feels much more natural than Fifa 09 and passing and movement feels fluid. The demo only allows 3 minutes per half but I was still really impressed with it. Now I'm looking forward to it even more!

lbradley Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I think it looks and feels a whole lot better than 09. 09 was a brilliant football game but 10 looks to batter it. The 360 dribbling is immense and the shooting feels alot better
Hightower Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 It is on PSN - my brother downloaded it last night (took forever though, PSN was slow - people must have been waiting for it!). I'll be setting my download of it away when I get home tonight. Not sure if I'll have time to play it though because I'm hooked on Fallout 3 at the minute!

kevbaz Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Fifa 10 is amasing! im sure there will be the usual bugs and glitches/annoyances but the demo is looking fab so far, also tried out pro evo 10.... what a pile of shite! its as if over the past 4-5 years fifa and pro evo have swapped roles! pro always used to get my nod but now its so ugly and arcadish its pathetic!
Fatmas Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Here is my opinion of the Pro Evo Demo: It's clunky I've always been in the Fifa camp and have kept an open mind with PES but Fifa seems to be running away with it in the last couple of years.

ProEvo2010 clearly has the best lighting, pitch textures and player likeness. It may not play the best if you're a fifa fanboy, but to call it ugly compared to Fifa is mental.

I do always base my choice of Fifa/PES on pitch textures The new Fifa 10 looks a lot better than PES 10 I think. I know a lot of "PES" fanboys that think fifa plays a lot better than pro evo this year.

Fifa2010 (from the demo) plays better, but it definatly doesnt look better. Can't believe they've not updated the lighting engine or basic player models, they look terrible still.

In earlier versions I could see both arguments for playing either Fifa and Pro Evo but Fifa 09 and the '10 demo have been getting the nod from even the most hardened PES fans I know. Saying that though, If you like PES, buy PES.
gshaw Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 FIFA10 gameplay does feel a lot more fluid now, yet to see goalkeeper intelligence like on their vids though... keeper left one ball to drop in exactly how they did on 09 Despite the gameplay enhancements I get the feeling 10 is more evolution than revolution... very disappointed with the graphics in that they haven't changed at all from last year... poor show guys! In this department the PES screenshots I've seen looked a lot better, almost role reversal with FIFA getting the gameplay and PES the graphics lol! Only problem with online mode is that it's filled with idiots... tried playing the 11v11 on FIFA09 the other night and got really frustrated with morons trying to score own goals etc etc I know the answer to this already but why are so many Xbox Live gamers idiots
apoth0r Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I swear its just a Fifa 09 thing, I got quite heavily into the BAP online and i never heard as much abuse by retards as i did in that game. The gameplay itself is brilliant when u get a good bunch together but thats very unlikely when people throw the toys out the pram when they don't get to be the player they wanted. I like the better fluidity in the new one, but like some have said disappointed in how similar it is to 09, not much more for your £40 odd quid they charge for the full game. No doubt packed with add-ons again that cost you shy of £10-15 each, whatever happened to decent free updates for games, we're not all pirates for console games.
gshaw Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Also remember that even if you don't like 10 EA can and probably will disable all online features from 09 in the very near future (check their EULA, the product basically expired at the start of the new season!) And these publishers wonder why people pirate games eh
Fatmas Posted September 23, 2009 Author Posted September 23, 2009 One feature in '10 that makes it for me. Ability to edit player numbers in Manager Mode! It felt like a game breaker last time, especially when strikers would take number 2 or something stupid. I still have no idea why they took it out in the first place.
