Which HTC Shall i have?

Just looking for some help here to make my mind up, Orange contacted me earlier today because i can now upgrade my phone.

 

The guy said they are going to expand my current tarrif:

 

Currently: 1200 Minutes, Unlim Texts, No Data

New: 2400 Minutes, Unlim Texts, Unlim Data

 

That part is fine, he said i can have the new Nokia N97 but i dont really want a general phone i would like a HTC so i asked the question if i could have one of the new HTC SmartPhones.

 

He said i can have any of them at no extra cost because of how high my bill's are on a regular basis i have like so many points on my account which is fantastic

 

But what HTC do i get? i like to HTC Touch HD after seeing EduGod's since him having that is there a newer model out that has more features?

Touch Pro 2 is getting good reviews in my office. The N97 is a smart phone btw (has a slide out keyboard and simbian s60 OS)

Be very carefull if the HTC has wifi and you intend using it Orange lock it down so its nearly impossible to use , forcing you to use their data network. There are work arounds ( look on google) but its a real pain.

I have a touch diamond and have had zero problems with wifi...

I've got the TouchHD - absolutely LOVE it!! Have played with the Pro2... but too bulky, and love the screen on the HD. There are rumours about HTC Firestone (HD successor), but nothing official, so wouldn't bother.

 

Can't comment on how Orange lock it down though as got mine via CPW.

Was £35 per month, if i renew it with the brand new HTC it will go up to £45 per month but i cant moan really because with the increase in my tarrif i should not get the 150+ per month phone bill lol

I really don't know what people like u do on the phone, I pay £10 a month on mine and get a few hundred free texts and thats me sorted for the month

i dont know how i do it either to be honest... the 1hr phone calls to jess dont always help ;-)

I got the HTC Magic through Vodafone last week and it's brilliant: Touchscreen, WiFi, Android. It's also got loads of apps available and since Android is open source, most of them are free. I'm not sure if you can get it through Orange though but I highly recommend it if you can.

Touch Pro2 for me too... I wouldn't say it's much more bulky than a Touch HD and there's no going back once you've had a keyboard!

ok so the guy on the end of the phone tells me i cant have the HTC Touch Pro 2 on Orange

 

So i have the choice of:

 

HTC Touch HD or HTC Diamond 2

Good job i have gone for the Touch HD then arrives tomorrow thankfully i do have 14 days to play if i dont like it i could change it for the diamond or something else :-)

:-) i have never had any problems with Orange... i have my 3G Dongle with them as well and again have no problems.

i think im about to go for the HTC Hero but ill have to have it unlocked to be able to use it on O2.

Some of us can ramble on once we get started.

 

My minute usage is always ~400 and then I get people to ring me too when I have no minutes left (because I am tight) so I probably spend about 15 hours on the phone each month. Never manage to go over my texts though, I get 500 of those.

 

I'm starting to turn to VOIP now though since I'm pretty much always at home when I want to talk.

I'm waiting on the Diamond 2 having had the Touch Pro (Vario III in t-mobile lexicon) for 18 months now.

 

Unfortunately T-mobile seem to want to drag their feet like mollases with releases so I'm waiting still...

That's why they made pay as you go phones - one cheap handset from ebay - one free pay as you go sim card and a fivers credit
