tazz Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Have you got any plastic wallets to put our coursework in? Answer: Actually yes we do!
nikaso Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Deputy Head: "Are you any good with heights?" Me: "Err....I suppose so?" Cue spending the next half an hour clambering around the roof of a school building taking photos of holes that had been left by some cowboy contractors.
solitaire89 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Just had a great one... VIth Form girl comes to office, bright red, and her mate asks if I can help her, as the aforementioned red faced girl goes even redder and protests loudly - "you can't ask her!!!" me: "Depends on the problem" Girl: "I can't get my belly button bar out, and wanted to know if you'd have any ideas" I've never laughed so much!
ICT_GUY Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Fixed a water pistol today for the year 6 teacher, involved the old cotton wrap and super glue binding. He managed to break the rest of the gun before the fix gave in.
Duane_Dibbley Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 No chance! I did help rescue the bat though. He was trapped under a pipe, bless. Shouldn't have done really...need a licence to handle bats in the UK due to rabies.

sparkeh Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Bored of IT and trying to branch out? You're barking up the wrong tree.
sparkeh Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Bored of IT and trying to branch out? He wants to turn over a new leaf.
LosOjos Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Not so much weird but I was asked if I'm the new head teacher. I was 21 at the time.
Arcath Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 "Can you fix my computer?" Surely not! I get a few staff members brining in home PCs and i usually fix them or give it back with a technical diagnosis of the problem for them to take to the local computer repair place (just because id rather not get into supplying parts or voiding warranties)
john Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Have you got any plastic wallets to put our coursework in? Answer: Actually yes we do! Strange that, I was asked for treasury tags yesterday, to which I had to say no I don't have them as I really don't! Staples and Hole Punches yes oh and paper clips but no tags I was asked last year if I was the new Site Manager by a visitor as I was wearing an old scruffy t-shirt and my work wear trousers, when I enlightened him that I was the IT Manager and currently was wiring up a new conversion in our building he then said I'm X your new teacher and I wanted to meet you at times like that I should have just been the Site Manager!
tmcd35 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Was once asked for some super glue......So a kid could re-attatch the sole to his shoe!
tmcd35 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Fixed a water pistol today for the year 6 teacher. Okay, I'm in the wrong job! Not sure I could get away with bringing my Super Soka 5000 to work
mac_shinobi Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Okay, I'm in the wrong job! Not sure I could get away with bringing my Super Soka 5000 to work I was thinking that and reminded me of when I worked in edu a while back - I fixed a PS 2 as the power connectors werent soldered on properly to the pcb and they had some funky material that made it very difficult to solder anything to the pcb but i got it re soldered and worked fine even after being knocked etc
laserblazer Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I was asked to sew up a kid's trousers that had split at the crotch. I gave him a couple of safety pins.
featured_spectre Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I have been asked for the following items by some kids who were sent by teachers. 10ft of Fallopian tube skirting board ladder sky hooks glass hammer reverse thread screws long weights left handed screwdriver holes from a hole punch and some rainbow paint. Some people clearly enjoy wasting time!!! 1
tazz Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Ring Ring - "Can you recommend a hairdressers in 'such and such a town'?" (such and such a town, where I live, on the 2nd day of term when all hell has broken loose!!!!!)
rad Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 "I need a really BIG favour" said one member of staff entering my office. Can you take a student to the toilet, the ones nearby are locked and the year 7 student doesn't know where the next nearest toilets are. Off I go to said locked toilet, pull out the master key I have, unlock it and then lock the door once the student has left the toilets. The advantages of being an ICT tech, keys to everywhere! 1
tazz Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Student: Do you know where I can find a Biology Book? Me: The Library?
TheSingUpTeam Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Had a teacher ask if I could defraggle their PC! Andrew http://roflrazzi.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/tumblr_l8jzlpr3ef1qzpwi0o1_500.jpg?w=500&h=248 2
