Edugeek afraid of being seen as not being politically correct, surely not?!

:troll:

Well it can't be that, otherwise it was wrong to support other countries.

I think the point is that most English people don't really care either way - we're far too reserved to make a fuss :-)

No-one stops anyone from putting up flags etc but most people aren't bothered. Add to that the fact that the cross of St George has been mis-appropriated by some pretty dodgy people over the years and I suspect that there are people who actively don't want to display it!

What a sad state of affairs if that is true. It should not matter whether this flag has been abused. This is England's St George's Day and should be recognised as such far more than it is. It's such a shame that so few people seem to have pride in our country anymore, yet are only too happy to promote the days celebrated by other nations. Of all the British Isles, we appear to have lost our identity most of all.

Personally I'm going to be celebrating Shakespeare's birthday instead.

I plan to do this by having a hearty dinner of meat, cheese and bread, then going to the pub for some traditional stout ale.

Apparently the "historic market town" of morley is having a large celebration. The mayor was on the radio this morning bigging it up. I will refrain from making any comment about morley's status of historic market township as some of my colleagues live there ;)

There's even two moderators (the people who normally sit on the fence) who have acknowledged the OP's comments - what's going on EduGeek?! Get it sorted!

It would seem I have made a rod for my own back with the logos, one that I maybe should remove.

Such a shame if you were to withdraw your (voluntary) services over this.

Nobody has a right to expect anything of the (free) site or people who donate their time, but its much appreciated here.

Would like to thank everyone for there support with the custom logos. Nice to see the usual suspects making such positive comments.

Some of use have a life outside this forum, so excuse me for not having a logo ready for 00:01 today. Not that I have to justify myself but the logo was being done before the first post on the subject.

That's fair enough, and as Mark has said, we appreciate all your work. Nobody was having a go at you not having time etc. People jumped to conclusions (including me) and thought EduGeek was not supporting today.

At the same time though, all it took was a message (and I don't mean you SYSMAN) to stop people getting the wrong end of the stick.

"LOGO IS ON THE WAY, DON'T WORRY FOLKS!"
