So, the day has finally arrived when the server and I have been moved out of the IT suite and into our own little office!! :D

Given that this is a junior school, what posters etc do people have in their offices? I am looking to brighten the place up a bit and make it 'mine'

I have some computer haiku posters and of course an edugeek sticker or two (no mug, alas, even though I have been promised one several times :( ) but I wondered what else I could use. Also, I wondered whether I need something on the door?

I am also looking for some information posters about using IT - I did have some but they are very out of date - anyone point me to a link?

Ta

We are waiting for some more to be made I believe for next month :) Witch send me you address and when see db next month I will keep kicking him until he puts said mug in the package I will have ready made up with your address and correct postage on.

Cold Cathode tubes everywhere... I've got blue ones and the kids are all "woooooo" when they walk in. Staff are all "WTF are you IRRADIATING ME!?"

:p

Tell them it changes to when it detects stupid people or it that it tries to remove stupidity from them.

You seem to have missed the most essential piece of kit any well stocked support department needs.

Just put a sign up on the door, so it can be read from outside, and write on it 'Back in 10 minutes'

If nothing else it will let you know who has trouble with the English language (strangely, that usually seems to be teachers!)

we just have a knock and wait sign which is generally ignored, we have a window on our office so they can see we are in :(

i always said when we we having this new office i said i was goin to paint a few little pictures. still havent got round to this yet lol

The MSDN schools blog are offering free office 07 posters.

Microsoft UK Schools News Blog : Reminder - Free Office 2007 classroom posters There quite good if a little massive.

Oh, how very dare you Sir. "a little massive"? I spent hard hours slaving over the designer, as he created our beautiful works of art, and I said to him "Remember they're going up in a classroom. They've got to be big enough that even with just a few of them it'll be possible to cover up all of the fading red sugar paper on a whole wall"

Or was it a reference to the "Microsoft massive", to boost our street cred
;)

On the other hand, young James the Intern, who's been packing all of the poster requests today - and moaning about it - would probably prefer that they were postage stamp size.

Some great ideas there: I will have a ponder.

I've got the horrible feeling that I am not supposed to stick anything to the walls - have to get round that, I think!

Andie: this is only in one school, in the other I am in the IT suite (as we speak, actually) and so I feel your pain

You can get these sticky things by 3M that you can stick to walls and then remove without any marks (they can packs of just the tabs, hooks ect)

I might put up some of the lolcats as well

Jiser, the office is down by 5E off the hall - custom built, very nice, and the computers were fine once I used the gigabit port on the switch for the server!

I'm sittting here all alone listening to Classic FM and it is lovely and peaceful!

Sweet! I guess there was no better place than that really. Considering they wern't using it, you got a good place there.
