I spent about half an hour going for a 'drive' round glasgow today. Always wanted to go the wrong way down the one way streets.

Quality of the images is amazing. They even managed to photoshop some blue sky into glasgow.

Has any one ever seen google doing this on they jouruneys?

I havent but what been funny, I just imagined that if google had the same van as the "A-Team" with the google logo on it :D that made me laugh thou how I thought of that, hmm possible "Mr-T" driving too lol.

-edit-

the only problem is that some of the number plates are blurred out others are not which in my opuion not good.

Yes I saw what I thought was a Google car - it was an Opel Astra (Not a Vauxhall Astra) and it had a triangular camera thing on the roof.

I didn't think nothing of it until I saw a picture in a newspaper. Definately a Google Car.

what they need to do is create a way of playing a animated walk through of a trip from A to B, so that it will show you exactly how to get from A street to B street. Or to tie in with GPS or something.

I saw the car last summer on yarmouth seafront. The driver was parked up eating an icecream! Ive just done a walk around my old streets in leeds for nostalgias sake. Actually managed to find the way home from the pub to my house for a change! I cant even contemplate the amount of work that goes into recreating everything is such detail.

Hmm, I can't seem to see any street view options in the UK - it has America and Everywhere else, but none in the UK.

I just dropped the orange dude on Birmingham...does it make a difference if you are on .co.uk or .com?

im using it on .co.uk with Birmingham, its not all covered but if you hold the peg man over the map the areas with street view turn blue.

The M6 seems to be the cut off with Birmingham. You can get to Fort Dunlop and then no further.

Interesting find in Richmond. You know how they have software to blur people in the street; well it has attacked a photograph in a hairdresser's window. I'd be curious to know how it is supposed to work!
