Zimbra 8 password....OMG
ChrisJ replied to Little-Miss's topic in Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL)
Oh indeed, it would have been nice to have had a warning. I'm putting a recommendation to my replacement that they should look at moving away from Zimbra (rumours are that Link are also looking at O365). -
Zimbra 8 password....OMG
ChrisJ replied to Little-Miss's topic in Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL)
Standard verification is usually to get another person in school to send an email asking to reset your password. But a lot of the time the person on the phone has spoken to the person calling a few times (I know I spoke to you quite often back in the day) and will sort things out there and then. -
Zimbra 8 password....OMG

What is appears to be is that if you use too similar a password (I had just changed the numbers) your account gets locked out. So remember! It's a totally different 12 character, at least 3 uppercase, at least 3 numbers and at least 3 punctuation marks password. Well that's easy to remember! 0118 999 881 99 9119 725 3 -
Zimbra 8 password....OMG
ChrisJ replied to Little-Miss's topic in Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL)
So the 30 days since I entered my original 12 characters, at least 3 uppercase, at least 3 numbers and at least 3 punctuation marks password has gone. I now have to make a new one. Easy enough I think.... Log into webmail interface to get the "Your password has expired, please provide a new one" and enter a new one. Standard 3 boxes - Original, New and New again. Fill them all out, press submit. "Sorry, your original password is incorrect" Fill out boxes again. "Sorry, your original password is incorrect" Hmm, bit odd. Open another browser, log into webmail. "The username or password is incorrect." FFS!!!! Try new password incase it did change. "The username or password is incorrect." Great... so now I appear to be locked out of my email. -

I'm putting together a handover document type thing for whoever replaces me in the future. What would have been useful information to you to help you when taking over the role (ICT Operations Manager)? What sort of things did you have to spend a couple of days trying to work out that could have been easily resolved had the previous person told you about them.

Friday. Riding down on the Link2ict London tour bus, so should arrive shortly before closing time....

This Guy Wants The Internet To Name His Daughter...
ChrisJ replied to 6Foot2's topic in General Chat
I've always been tempted to try this in CMIS.... but I have a strange feeling it would probably work. -
That would have made it a lot easier. Getting a coach down and I hope it doesn't do the full M6 & scenic tour of London again. Edit: Just looked and the area map is the NEC. Maybe a sign of things to come?

Zimbra 8 password....OMG

I hadn't spotted the monthly basis bit. That's a bit annoying. Relevant XKCD -
Did you try stopping the ePortal services (eportal, dataserver & IIS) then renaming the folder? I know the Apache side of things is case sensitive so that could be the problem. Odd how the folder has been created as lower case since the delete & rebuild usually creates the folder as "API" rather than "api".
-
A few months ago I got the free AP you get for sitting through a sales pitch webinar. When I plugged that in and added the device in the dashboard it said it couldn't communicate with it. Once Link opened required ports on the firewall for the IP address of the AP, it appeared in the dashboard and allowed me to do all the various stuff I needed.
-
Got one of their free MR12 Access Points and that works fine here after Link did the changes at their end. Trying one of the Meraki switches at the moment, so currently awaiting the firewall change to see if that has any luck working.
-
At least we got a bonus tour of London
-
On my way now after the bus got lost on the way to the second pickup point. Should be a good day.
-
Looks like I will be catching that as well... just up the road from me so ideal! See you on the bus! It's the only way to travel I'll be one of the misbehaving ones at the back

Hi, had the same problem here. I know it's probably a bit late for you now, but here's how I enabled USB boot on the NC-110. Press F2 to get into setup, under Advanced disable Fast BIOS Mode. Save and reset. Press F2 again and you'll find that the USB drive is now available under the Boot Device Priority section.

[free] Promethean 78" Boards PRM-AB2P-01 x 13
ChrisJ replied to ChrisJ's topic in Classified Adverts
Just an update, these models have a serial connection. -
We have available 13 Promethean Boards (the purple edged ones). Model number PRM-AB2P-01 78". The projectors are pretty much shot so I won't be palming these off on you unless you want them, but the boards function fine. We're located in Saltley in Birmingham. So if you're able to collect you can have as many as you want. If not they'll be recycled off to the big IT scrap heap in the sky. PM for more details. Oh and there's a few still working Promethean 5.1 amps if anyone wants.
-
Thought that might be the case. I found all the information I needed, just wanted to see if I could get a bit more. I'll explain my logic in a PM.

I'm trying to fish some information out of the audittrail table via sql. Actions taken by a user in Eportal to be precise. However this table returns the ePortal username value eg. sta001aff (UserRespon in AUDITTRAIL). Does anyone know of a table that might contain this username value alongside the staff ID? I'm wanting to return the staff name as part of my query rather than having to look at the resource passwords list in Facility. I've looked in RESPASSWORDS and can see that has an encrypted value PwdData that is linked to the staff ID. Knowing my luck the username is scrambled in that. Anyone managed to find what I'm after in the maze of Facility tables?
-
The Facility database will make you cry. Do not blame them for starting fresh with Progresso.
