  3. I am looking for a power-shell script or a freeware GUI software that I can run at start up, that can check a drive and certain folders and it's sub folders for file changes, and then make a shadow copy of only the selected files and folders that get changed added or deleted or modified and then create a shadow copy constantly checking every 30 seconds or so. Thanks in advanced. Apologies for not posting in while as I don't work in the IT industry anymore but thought this could also be handy for home use, and imagine in an IT environment.

  11. Dear all android users can you tell me if this the way android phones work or there a setting I need to change or if it hard coded by Google which then if is, if ask me then Google should change it as it confusing The issue is that I have noticed the times on the texts that I receive on my phone are timed with the times on the phone when it receives the text for example if someone texts me 5am on a day and I dont receive the text message till 7am the time my phone says it was 7am it was sent which isn't good if someone says they have swapped tomorrow morning shift with me for the afternoon one and I receive the text a on the day when they sent night before as I be in on the wrong time, and I not planning to switch network gain better service as I find in work may be good but home naff or vice versa and not one using other apps either as don't want to have other methods of people of contacting me like via apps like viper bbm which works off data or whatapp etc which I like to keep to family friends not work and if did create separate account then it be another thing to check which I rather not Looking forward to hearing from you android edugeek users
  12. Can someone tell me how can I access the Internet with the wrong time / date as It seems to say limited connectivity when I use it but when the time /date correct then it works again but change to incorrect time / date it don't work - I not sure if this is down to the computers or is or my modem router or isp https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs3-updater-detect-any-updates.html As you can see in solution 1 they suggest it too I know can manually do update but I like to know how this can be achieved. Thanks in advanced
  13. mine was called "unknown device" or "failed to connect" and "skynet"
  14. I not tried this after all since Microsoft extended life of xp to the selective few aka governments etx then it was bound to be hacked or someone let it slip within the chain - I don't think microsoft could prevent it anyform. Since reading few sources Microsoft don't seem that concerned of it reading online as they say the hack is for that version of posxp then it up to users but those updates not been tested agaimst xp - so I guess could say the finders of who found it out was close but not close enough. If I recall correctly someone correct me if wrong but since the only diff between the xp editions were just hidden not disabled as I read ages ago media center cant connect to domains but if upgraded you cannot change it but it still would be connected and xp home don't have group policy but copying them from xp pro and few register dlls regedit then it work. Think these types of things now been proper fixed
  15. my opinuion to solve phone calls and when they ask you to confirm your indentity by answering security questions as people point out they can be anybody - my solution would be they required to provide a security question and answer aswell to confirm they are who they say they are aswell
  16. ATMs set to be left vulnerable as Microsoft ends support for Windows XP | Mail Online I think this a time to be shown concern if the banks and the makers of the ATMs haven't tested with a newer version of windows. And how many of retailers and other businesses are running XP or older operating systems , they could be prone to anything once support has ended. I know the best option would be make sure that these computers don't connect to the internet but if everything goes up-to head office as they claim, then I doubt very much they have a dedicated cables running up and down the country. That's my opinion. And when I had been looking at updates in the past, I had been reading on what fixtures have been applied and what concerns me with Microsoft that they claim products like notepad that suppose to have no internet access at all can be breached and used against people why Microsoft are you creating applications and all they components connect to the internet? It be simpler if you just had one component / file connecting to the internet than many and I have noticed over the last couple years that you seem to be giving less info of what these updates fixing. Just my 2 pence
  17. I was repairing a second hand computer for a realitve, and they had no Windows CD but i noticed there was a COA sticker, so I thought that I recall looking online if you download an OEMBIOS files for the matching brand so i did this and i made an copy of my windows xp cd and replaced the OEMBIOS files with the ones i downloaded and burnt the cd since it gave me two different sets i could use , i tried one but it failed copying the files across on the file so i assume it was corrupt i downloaded the second set and burnet the cd again, this time everything went all to plan but what puzzled me was that i thought it enter a matching product key automatically for me and also activate the copy of windows without it needing online access but it didnt do both the things, i haven't yet activated it since i yet to use nlite to intergrate drivers and xp updates but can anyone shine some light what i doing wrong or have i misunderstood
  18. The parents are thinking of changing ISPs and wondering is there to transfer a copy of their email messages in their inbox and folders accross from their current ISP to their new? I was thinking wouldn't software like outlook or windows mail could be used to download a copy of all they existing email messages and contacts, and then it can re upload to their new ISP inbox. Would this work or am i wrong? i always used web based email and never used these kind of software.
  19. I didnt realise adobe messed up on this i did think it was geunine free, so does that mean even for they mess up i can't have the software i obtained?

  21. you naughty sheep -joke-, i not been asked about it but i wondering if schools are still giving pupils these kind of things, since i find these days all you do for employers or interviews or send off to jobs is ask for a cv, a refrence that about it, the only other thing i see they may ask is a tell me or show me test
  22. I know you lot are working in some form of education, and all the jobs that i have applied for and been to have just been asking of a C.V nothing else, and I just came across my old progress file which i had back in comp , 24 atm only found it by chance since i been thinking of scanning all my old school / college books into the computer and make a flipbook with them then taking up physcal space, probably never use them or refer back them o well. back to main question are schools still giving these to pupils or not ? since not sure if i can chuck it out or i need it. here a pic i found on the net of what one looks like. - i had to edit it to hide the person behind it Please note i hope i dont start it off agian by making this post if they have been discontinued lol

  24. Can someone provide the registy key that i can change to disable this from showing within Windows XP Home, i know this can be done with GPEDIT.MSC in Windows XP Professional.
