lol well windows froze well the other few times the application played up and it flashed part of it and when i rerun the program it claimed it already there, in futrue i look in task manager for any uncessary programs running and disable the anti-virus. < me hiding from bios updates.

Well not to bothered with recovery material didnt miss much from what they gived and well found it not good lol, hmm i have to check if there bios update, but since dont want to ruin or kill the pc i think i cope with it since it not a biggie. killed a few PC's in my workplace becase it didnt flash properly but since we had some motherboards dead swichted the bios chips since they were removal and put them in the ones i killed they worked fine, so i dont touch bios updates now lol

lol well dont use them anymore got my own XP disc now. and now use Nlite to update my XP disc so my XP installation always be up-to-date, still do the same as microsoft which is dont include newer versions of WMP and IE.

- apoligies yea the Audio and RJ45 port is onboard. Well the computer itself quite old but as the saying goes if it not broken dont fix it, lol suits it purpose, It packard bell running XP, well before i learnt how to do recovery or install windows myself before the appritcship took it to a corner computer shop, after it broke again i realiese he wiped the recovery partation clean and used a VLK XP disc, so didnt needed activation not sure what rules and reglations for shops which do custom buliding or repairs :S but i have purchased my own windows xp now so i can do it myself I use also the program "Driver Max" to update the drivers and back them up (When downloading the drivers i looked for signed ones) and also now in the very slow process using Nlite so i dont have to download updates and that.

Hi all is when i take the RJ45 out of my home PC or the speakers to switch for headphones the PC freezes up, there is not a problem if i take it out of the router only the PC. Is this a driver issue or no thanks in advance

Well when I was doing my apprenticship the school had volume shadow copy, but only select staff had it, and the pupils and the non seleted staff cant do it. Also found this was handy with profiles too

I found this by accident when the same was happening when i took them off the domain when i was still working, i thought this was a glitch or a bug, but it dont happen if the computer hasnt joined a domain.

Has anyone realised or is it only a problem with my laptop? With Windows XP's default photo viewer (cant rember the name it the one that came with windows) that Animated Gif's worked & did their movements (frame changes) But now with Vista's default (cant rember the name it the one that came with windows) animated gif's dont do they movement (frame changes). The only way I can do this and see it with a web browser it so annoying. And has anyone noticed with vista themes the folder name isnt shown in the title bar only in classic mode. Is the above only me or everyone or Microsft did this and no fix? would like to hear people solutions or what they found to solve above. thanks in advance.

Not sure if all is for it but i thought it be much easier and useful for not very experince users such as myself. for the wikipage, have a "how-to" Section which will cover alot of gorunds from programing to settings etc. and have a "Useful count" or "Not Useful Count" and if the infomation has to be amended that it has to be approved of. If anyone want to give input mention here you might got other ideas to make it better. etc thanks I check here later to see what people think or if it been not approved by the admin of the site.

Any Ideas how to make a profile read only, for a local non network machine, I have tried seeting mandatory profile by changing the profile to a .man but settings are still saved. I am looking to set the whole profile, application data, etc to be read only, so no nasties can affect it plus it dont grow to riduclous size, but I still would like the desktop, and my documents to still be read and write too so the user can still save work. Also I hoping I can then back-up the profile, so I can then allow changes to be made themes, etc which I guess are all profile based to be in place and then back read only. reason for backup incase things go wrong. Hi all i am looking for a cheap NAS, for the home which also has a usb connection that I can connect up manually and a anotehr to connect a printer. A quiet one so you wont notice it there. I was thinking of connect to my wireless router and redirect each computer in the house to a shared file on the nas each pc has it own indivudal folder and set quota's. also a script on each of the pc that if it cant see the nas store on the pc and then sync and delete once it see the nas again. Is this all possible and are NAS secure?

lol well it sort of is, but it can be vastly implemted with features such as search, looks much simpler for beginners, I understand some concept of the active directry from this but i assume the only way is background command lines are used. but if we have it we can personalise it such plus im sure we can do much more. But what do people think of it good or bad idea, plus with this be easier to manage it wont be as clutted, we could do simple design 1st before making it look fancy. plus if schools got a prefix like XXX-00001, and other stuff like the deployin of apps and settings, but variaotion to operating systems and classrooms, but of course this has to be stored on the main server because it v.rare a sever fails or portable but requries the School's Admin username and password to be used for serity, workstations are more prone due to kids access lol so it wont be wise. and well a back-up feature too.

Hmm during my period of doing my nvq appretiship I assume that the school's local authority created some bespoke using VB6, (I assume it VB6 since I notice VB6 Form Icon in the courner). Features It could do, Add User - Also setted up the folder for the user. Delete User Disable User Add notes/comments (same applies for computer) Move the componets between Organisation Units View by organisational units or groups Hmm cant rember else I see what else it prob come to me lol. (see what other users thinks might be intrested if this can be web based too) Thought we could create our own but make open source like.

Yea it was definate good I was thinking that it was going be another clash with the doctor and jack, like they did before this one or the doctor saves the day but he didnt. and poor Ianto , dont think jack been close not even to "Captian John Hart" (James Marsters). but I have noticed one thing that "Captian Jack" and "The Doctor" that there are always the ones who have to live on, while their companions, either die from eniemes or old age and they are the only ones who still have alive with those memories and since they can't really die. So I reccomend that "The Doctor" should allow "Captian Jack" to join him. I hope there more torchwood to come, it been brillant indeed, well would love to see an xmas special but it always the doctor who gets the higher audince. Well there has gotta be more torchwood, well since "the doctor" isnt always around, and torchwood been alien captrue, it has to be in cardiff, but I really enjoyed the orginal team but how can they bring back don't know. lol looks like nothing gets passed google lol, how much i see prices for new but not renewal any ideas roughly, I thought they would always send the latest discs out, for example u got xp With sp1 disc then send you xp with sp2
