This highlights the potential problems for centrally-managed IT services under BSF. Once you remove the essential services away from the school, you vastly increase the number of points-of-failure; from anywhere on the WAN right down to individual servers or network devices at the chosen data centre. But it won't just affect one school - it will affect all schools.

This is Google's latest major outage. In October Gmail was out of action for more than a day, much to the chagrin of its users. Taken from here :- Google's email service down ? Unless it occurred during a half-term when the teachers/staff did not bother to use it their email!!
