Xbox 360. What a joke the first 2 (3?) years of this console was. Rushed to market to beat the PS3, was plagued from day one by shoddy power supplies and horrible heating issues that caused the CPU/GPU to come lose from the motherboard. Nasty cheap DVD drives that damage disks.

MS only managed to avoid being sued into the ground by issuing a 3 year warranty extension for the motherboard issue.

If you count Network Managers then they are the most unreliable product of modern society, some of their decision making leaves a lot to be desired.

How come every other country I've been to has an awesome, cheap and reliable public transport infrastructure - yet we're stuck in the stoneage.....

Photocopiers, they all seem to have an Arthur Scargil mentality, especialy when I want to use them.

 

Seconded - you never seem to be able to do anything to a photocopier without looking like you've been down a coal mine... and :censored: thing always goes on strike when you need it most. Precise make and model is irrelevant.

 

Coming in a close second place would be printers - a closely related species which are equally temperamental, but give you the option of looking like you've been down a multi-coloured coal mine

That's because ever since after Winston Churchill, everything about Britain has become crap. We specialise in crapness.

 

We've even got the Finns and the Russians laughing at us for falling over in a couple of centimeters of snow.

 

On Monday a fifth of the workforce stayed at home and we lost about 2bn in revenue.

Thinking about it my prior 6 squash rackets were pretty rubbish too.

I have to question USB memory sticks. I've only known of 2 or 3 fail here in all the years we have been using them. Considering the abuse they get then that is pretty remarkable. Just as well considering all of the irreplaceable data they hold.

Because we try to make a profit out running them when most countries run them at huge losses. [ And the public own them ] Who do we have to blame for that ? Oh it's the Mad Cow Thatcher who sold it and now all this time later it's come to bite us all on the bum, just like the water, gas and leccy, steel & British industry as a whole.... [ and the banks ] - she and Regan we have to thank for that. All one mad cow's & B rate actor's work........

Same here in the Netherlands.... If I want to get to work using public transportation, the earliest I can be there is 10.15.... I have to start at 8.30

Don't disagree with the comments on public transport - but as you see above, it isn't just us anymore

Couldn't agree more - other countries have a service - we have some awful, badly thought-through "partnership" (how that word grates). And it doesn't seem as if any lessons have been learned from the mess that we're currently in. I haven't heard a major politician calling for banks rules to be tightened up significantly, and we are seeing the fruits of allowing all our industry and infrastructure to be owned by foreign concerns - where it is politically easier for them to close units here than in their home country.

 

The ongoing pressure to break up the Post Office and Royal Mail systems will be another disaster - no commercial firm will want to offer a fixed price delivery all over the UK - just the population centres, thank you very much.

 

At least in the past there was a consensus (often observed in the breach) that services should be run for the public good - now its to be run for the convenience of the suppliers (see BSF, PFI, railways, BT et al) :mad:
