burgemaster Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 We have a Samsung CLP-510 Network, we stupidly left the webmin Security option unticked, it looks like a students has logged into the printers webpage and set a password!! Samsung firstly took 35minutes to accept there was a password option within the printer (asking me to enter windows auth or contact the IT department!) They then said that this password cannot be reset !! I told her that this was a new printer and we need to reset this password, she said sorry, is there anything else i can help you with? I then called Digicare who do Samsungs repairs, they suggested that it cannot be done. This surely cannot be true !!! You have to throw a brand new printer away just because the password is set? http://i39.tinypic.com/2cp7od1.jpg
mattx Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 In the case where the SyncThru web service password does not work or has been forgotten use the last 8 digits of the units network card MAC address. 2
ChrisH Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 If all that fails and you cant do a factory reset its time to get creative with a dictionary.
plexer Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Didn't work on the one I just tried it on. Ben
mattx Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 What did you enter as the user ID ? Leave it blank and the password is the last 8 digits of the Mac address..... 2

mattx Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Worked perfectly.... your a star. I really want to phone Samsung and complain, but i cant be bothered to wait. Cheers again Not a problem, E-mail them instead demanding you want a detailed responce as to why you only found this out from a third party. What they have offered as so called customer service is shocking.

Jorgo Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I've just run into the same problem with a SCX-3205W printer. It doesn't let me enter a password only. Actually, I had changed the password in the configuration dialogue, and I typed it twice including the confirmation box. Now neither the old nor the new password work. Splendid. Any hints on resetting the thing would greatly be appreciated!
Namexe Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Hi everybody, I have now exactly the same problem as you Jorgo. Did you find any solution ? Namexe

Das mit der ID und letzten 8 Stellen der Mac Adresse habe ich schon probiert, er will immer eine Eingabe im ID Feld. Kann mir dringend jemand helfen? Vielen Dank im Voraus. MfG

kratzespies Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hi! I got the same problem with an used network-interface-card. After I had installed the item in a Samsung CLP-500 printer and tried to use the network interface, I was asked fore an password, that I didn't know. Remarkeable: After switching the printer off, the settings had changed, and no more password was necessary. Perhaps it was because of the former printer-typ was a CLP-550N? So if you have the chance to test the interface in an other printer - maybe it will work!?! Good luck!
rytterbomb Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 For a Samsung CLP-620 username: admin password: sec00000 regards, M Worked for me - you should work for Samsung, you actually know something!!!! You are a true saviour!!! 5 emails to Samsung and nothing but broken English responses that do not even answer the question that I have asked or ignore my message and explanation of what I have already tried. "Why not try downloading the application on our website" (I've already explained I have installed all applications on the website and the wireless wizard still does not work, they also supply a web link web link and say to download 'the 4th one down' the link just takes me to the .pdf manuals... Great....) Hair loss back to normal and stress over for now, lets hope I never have to commune with Samsung again! I do however still love their products!
