What a fantastic freebie - never seen anything like that before - how do they do it? My team here are mystified and have spent some time today trying to suss it out. .... just one thing, anyone else spotted the typo on them? ;)

Aaarhh! We were hoping no-one would notice the typo. To be fair we didn't notice either. The boss at The USB Company let me know on Saturday morning as it was their fault.

It wouldn't be a real BETT show without some kind of spelling or grammatical error from us though :)

I must admit, I didn't spot it but have since you mentioned it.

For those wondering how it works - it emulates a keyboard (you can have as many USB k/b as you like) and simply types the correct sequence every time the button is pressed.

So I'm guessing it must try and type either the Windows key, or the Windows Key and 'R' or something similar with a Windows Key in order to load the browser - they don't work here as we have blocked use of the Windows Key (for some strange reason unbeknown to me).

How do I get an Edugeek pen? My edugeek.net manual storage device didnt have one.

We have to provide some form of incentive for you to come to the next event!

Bah, the pictures have ruined it, I'd been picturing something you plugged into your chair and when someone came in and asked yet another stupid question you pressed something and rocketed away into the sunset

I believe it's Windows + 'R'

On my machine you can actually see it slow enough to know what it's doing, and if you accidentally click somewhere with the mouse it wont work.

It's also amusing, but annoying now that whist working if i accidentally nudge it or lean on it the text rwww.edugeek.net is entered mid sentence whereever i click!!!

I also didn't get a pen, but happy with the mugs at the mo'!

Tht there was a picture in the thread.

DOH

Well, you'll have to track one down, or i'll try and get a picture.

Mis-spellings aside, i want one for our users to launch the internal helpdesk.

Or. . . .even better, just reboot the machine : shutdown -r

hahaha.

Can you buy these? Do they work on Mac?

yes you can. check the link earlier in the thread. they should work on mac if there's a similar keyboard shortcut available. ON the PC it does windows + R. so if there's an equivalent like Command + O or something then it's doable i guess.

@Witch - mug of what? didn't you see DosBox's post in the thread re Acer Outlet - New edugeek feature. He said he was sorting it. just quote him and remind him. ;)

Can anyone confirm if it works? is there something you can change?
