Hi Chris,

There should be no problem having 3 domains as far as I'm aware. As long as WHD is installed on a server that users from all 3 domains can access via the web then it should be fine.

As for AD client synching, Web Help Desk has the ability to create multiple LDAP connections. So you just need to create 3 connections for your 3 domains.

Let us know if you need any help setting this up - support{at}unipress.co.uk.

Thanks,

I need to print reports off on a weekly basis for a certain location, how would i go around doing this?

Dan

Dan, configuring auto-scheduled delivery of any Web Help Desk Software report couldn't be easier.

You may create virtually any report needed in the Reports module, run them on demand, send them to PDF, or simply schedule the report to be automatically sent to the audience of your choice in PDF format via email.

Get more general information on help desk software reporting in Web Help Desk or feel free to contact your local rep or the support team for more details or a web-based walkthrough.

There is a section on configuring and auto delivering reports in the Web Help Desk Software Configuration Guide (13.4MB).

Anyone using this care to share their opinions?

Hi Edu-IT,

I see that no-one has come back to you on this, I don't know if it's something to do with the snow....

We have recently introduced a new discussions forum for Web Help Desk users. This is a great resource for getting tips on how to use the software, submitting feature suggestions, or just getting to know some of the users in the Web Help Desk Community. Please feel free to check this out: Web Help Desk Software Forum

Alternatively email webhelpdesk{at}unipress.co.uk and we'll be happy to provide you with some EDU references.

Thanks,

Thanks. I've downloaded the software and I'm tinkering with it myself.

(By the way, the Facebook theme for Vanilla forums is proving popular it seems!)

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post to let you all know that the Web Help Desk software is now also available as a hosted SaaS option installed on our UK-based servers. So if you either don't have the infrastructure to install the software yourself, or if you would just prefer the simplicity of the installation/maintenance being taken care of by someone else, this is for you!

You still get the same excellent Web Help Desk software in both the Lite and Pro varieties, but we host it for you on our top of the range servers located at a secure state of the art UK-based data centre. So all you need to get going is an internet connection and your favourite web browser... easy!

All the best,

I have installed it [Web Help Desk] and now I can't logon for the fisrt time [username/password as described in whd_admin_guide.pdf: Page 9]

Username/Password is not the issue: The logon button does not respond to clicks.

Browser: Internet Explorer: Version: 8.0.6001.18865

OS: Windows Server 2008: Standard Edition: SP2: 64 Bit.

Any ideas?

Hi Dave,

You say that when logging in to WHD directly on Windows Server 2008 the Login button doesn't respond. This is due to the form submit button using Javascript to submit the username/password. Javascript is often disabled on browsers installed on server platforms by default, so this would explain the Login button not working for you.

I would suggest that you either ensure that javascript is enabled on the web browser, or just log in to the software from a regular desktop machine.

I hope this helps you or anyone else using WHD on Windows Server 2008!

Thanks,

whd_guy.
