self explanatory - I enjoy macs and wanted something better then ninja and as per Ninja - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

 

ninja and shinobi-no-mono (as well as shinobi) may be translated as "one skilled in the art of stealth."

I thought that the stealth part linked in nicely with the macs since you can enable stealth mode on macs well at least with os x

It was the account username I was given when I started working (at a bank, and they seem to go for anonymous usernames).

When out drinking (heavily) with some former colleagues, one admitted to having this name at school due to his habit of excessive "self abuse" , around that time we were playing a lot of online games together and I started using it as a "handle" to annoy him, and it stuck, as these things do.

Stolen from a popular Japanese Manga/Anime since I thought the alias would be cool (at the time), with the A dropped since people in certain DJing crowds got upset that I was 'stealing' their DJ alias (in reality: I've been using the 'Frieza' alias for 7 years, and they've been "on the scene" for two).

 

Most MC's say DJ Fries instead of DJ Freeze which is how I consider it to be pronounced.

There will be people on EduGeek that won't remember the early days of EduGeek... before the bling new v2 site came along. The old CMS we used was a little restricitive and one of its restrictions was that usernames had to be a minimum of 4 characters. An underscore seemed as good as anything and then it kind of stuck.

'suppose it's my turn to enter the confessional, another boring one I'm afraid. It hails back to about '93 when I first got on the Internet. I needed a username between 4 and 10 characters and the best I could come up with was my first initial and the start of my name - tmcd.

 

I used this for years. Then one day I had to re-apply for a yahoo mail account. 'tmcd' was taken since I'd used it before. One of the options was tmcd35 - I took it, it stuck, thats it! Fraid the 35 as no meaning what so ever!

Mines an easy one ... back in the days of PDP/VAX networking uniqueness was needed therefore first 4 of surname plus first two of christian name. Mostly worked but there were exceptions.

 

I also use Earwig 'O' (hence the earwig avatar) - from what they shout at football matches ...
