Attendance, Census and me being outright stupid?

Ok...the office has gone to do the Census today, and we're getting millions of error 2500 codes on all the pupils.

 

Looking at our attendance codes, they dont seem to match the DFES ones, for instance our X codes are still X , when they should be # . I thought those codes were supposed to change in august?

 

Aside from all that, we are on Sims 7.108, but in the office they are using Attendance 6.69. Shouldnt we be on Attendance 7 by now? Under the focus menu, we dont have any Attendance sub menu listed.

 

Come to think of it, are our 2500 code errors even related to the attendance codes being wrong? I suspect they are as its of course got the wrong code on all the inset days

Birmingham LA published the September Sims update which brings it upto 7.110. Not sure if this version is required to do the Census?

We have the sept update on solus, havent actually done it yet. Could it be that its needed for the census? Has anyone done the census without the sept update?

I'm afraid the September release is required for Census.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Edit: Well that's what we were told and thus spent all of last week upgrading over 100 schools to it!

According to support net only 7104 (May release) is needed although there are some updates in the September release. I can confirm that it did run on the June release although as it happens we upgraded to September before sending it.

I had lots of 2500 codes which were generated by 1 person having a Z in their attendance records (not allowed). This caused the system to generate an error for every student!

We have had census errors before with attendance but this was a while ago. I remember running a little capita program that replaced all codes with a selected code. This solved it for us but it was a year or so ago now.

Yeah, we found this too...

 

If you ask Capita they explain it, they called Attendance 7, "Lesson Monitor", so if you look, you probably are, dunno why they left the old version there though.

Schools and more particularly LAs have time to move from the old Attendance 6 to the new Attendance 7. Once your support unit is ready they apply a licence patch which turns on the Attendance 7 menus. Attendance 6 & 7 use the same lookups.
