It's that time of year again when, after a month of hiking prices, major retailers discount their goods for a couple of weeks.
Cynicism aside, there are some good deals coming to light, and as someone who has had to make an emergency dishwasher purchase in the past week, are very thankful for them. 
So, once more, we have created the Black Friday thread for the year and ask that if you see any really good deals to post them up in here.
Don't forget to use browser plugins such as CamelCamelCamel to check if these are actual deals or not, and feel free to include the ridiculous such as a £1 saving on an item!

It's listed as a monitor, but it's a Samsung, it's 4K, has speakers, 2 HDMI ports (1 with ARC), has TV features and is £300. I don't know if that's a good price for 43" 4K screens, but if I had the space for it, I'd probably get this and run it as a TV...

I bought a TCL to replace my Samsung, I've been very impressed. Modern TV's are a lottery, with companies making Black Friday specials with lower components. Worth watching https://www.youtube.com/@allenfleckney5969 if you want info and current trends. Some "respected" brands are just badged Vestel, including Panasonics etc.!

Just don't fall into the Hisense trap. Great TV's for the money - the only guarantee is failure soon after the warranty expires.

I've had a Hisense for three years now, and I have to say I'm impressed with it's specs and features, but apparently I can expect (under ideal circumstances) 7 years out of it.
I really hope I reach that mark with it!

 

I've also noted that deals on solid state storage are thin on the ground this year, must be down to the RAM price increase ☹️

Yeah that's been annoying me - I've been on the hunt for a 2TB SSD, ideally 2.5" sata but prices have gone stupid. Only last month could have picked up an NVME one for £90.

Oooh cheers that's not half bad, the rest are some brands I wouldn't trust with someone else's barge pole.

I think my hope was replacing my 3.5" 2tb spinning rust with a sata SSD, as I have a pair of 1tb nvme drives already. Wondering if I can sacrifice a TB by removing some of the million games I bought but never played

tbf ive been looking myself and i've been viewing currys quite regularly online however it's hard to gauge how they look in person but if anyone has one of these - Buy PHILIPS Ambilight 43PUS8500/05 43" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR QLED TV | Currys ive been looking at getting one  be good to know honest opinions....

Got a Philips a couple of years ago and so far, so good - love the ambilight! Occasionally needs a reboot if things start buffering on one of the "big" channels. Don't know about the TitanOS, though. I deliberately went for one with Android in the hope that it would be supported longer.

yeah ive heard mix reviews about the titanOS however i just use my xbox for everything on the tv on my current one i don't even have batteries in the remote and haven't for the past couple years so maybe be irrelevant in my case....

I was using my HTPC or PS4 for "TV App" functionality, but find the TV OS so much less of a faff, plus my wife and the unwanted lodgers can work out how to use it.

 

What can the Xbox output at? My TV can accept 120hz, not that I have anything that outputs that atm. The TV you linked is 60hz.

its 120 hz i believe but not the be all end all cause i only use it for casual media like Netflix and or rocket league however i dont want to be paying extortionate prices for 120hz......

The Manba One controller is now £55.99 on Amazon. You can get it cheaper on Temu etc, but obvs that is at your own risk (I bought a second (Xmas pressie for son) from there and it arrived fine).
I can highly recommend this controller as long as you don't want to use it on the Xbox (PC, Switch and Android only atm. pending possible firmware updates).

Well - I bought one.  Picture fine, getting to grips with the Smartness, but the sound is woeful.  "That's OK I thought, I'll just connect up the sub I had on the old one..."  No analogue audio out.  FFS...

 

Got an old Sony soundbar with optical in for £20 from Facebay; seems to do the trick; but that's a bl00dy good wheeze by the mfrs.

I don't think it's a Black Friday thing but Argos have (out of stock currently though) 2TB Samsung 990 Evo's for under £100 and Pro's for only a little more....

 

Edit - it is Black Friday, stock is silly low.

However, I've apparently bagsied the last 990 Pro 2TB with heatsink for 139.99 which I've just collected

Really? I've not got that LG TV but I was quite impressed with the sound on the 43"-ish one I bought last year for about the same price. Compared to others I've seen, it's a lot better.

I picked up a TP-Link NX210 5G router for use at home on Amazon's Black Friday price.  This router replaces our older MR600 that was 4G+.  The new one has taken our speed up from around 80Mbps to 245Mbps on Three unlimited, and gets 100% signal strength, something we never achieved before.  Really nice tower design, you can see the status lights clearly, it has a fully configurable GUI and nanny settings.  I wanted QoS and it does that really well, giving priorities where you want it.

I bought the 903 about 18 months back and am very happy with it (It was also over £150 when I bought it!). If you have a car with Bluetooth but no Apple Carplay or Android Auto, then these are excellent upgrades!
