Andycat Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 Hi, We're just deciding whether to take the extension option on our current operating lease. The vendor says we wouldn't get anywhere near our current cost per click price on a new contract, even with them. Can anyone who is in a contract younger than 3 years let me know their price for colour and BW clicks please? Thanks, Andy
MYK-IT Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 (edited) Go through a procurement framework (e.g. CPC, Everything ICT). Not only ensures best value for money, but covers things like consumables, recycling of old toners, no extra cost (to the school) associated with returning the equipment when the Operating Lease ends etc. Edited May 27, 2025 by MYK-IT
DGardiner Posted May 27, 2025 Posted May 27, 2025 ours are all done via cpc now, get rid of all the hidden costs like paid resites (i know who moves them really) and returns at the end of the contract
Andycat Posted May 27, 2025 Author Posted May 27, 2025 This IS on the framework, but the new framework prices are higher. Our 3 year (CPC) has a 1+1 year extension, at the current price, which is cheaper than those mentioned so far!

psydii Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 One needs to consider the lease/capital cost of the devices. Vendors can wiggle things around to suite budgets or priorities. At our last refresh we now pay quite a lot more per click, but 75% less on leasing for the devices that are around the building. Since these devices only do about 10% of printing their per copy charges (while very high) amount to very little in the scheme of things. Our big units remain at per-click charges similar to most of those mentioned above, but on an older contract. (It is not financially justifiable to have *any* of the units around the building, based on the volumes those individual units print, however the operational (and wellbeing) benefit of having these units available as backup for when luck takes out two of the central units on the same day, or those 30-seconds-before-the-lesson emergency prints is considerable and wins the day, for now.) 1
Synkrox Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 0.002024 Mono 0.015975 Colour Brand new contract with Ricoh on CCS RM6174 Lot 1 framework.
StephenPink Posted June 2, 2025 Posted June 2, 2025 Those are looking very cheap! Do any of those include things like PaperCut licensing/support? 1 hour ago, psydii said: One needs to consider the lease/capital cost of the devices. I'd also be curious to hear about the lease costs with those super cheap click charges. Also - those with the low framework pricing - how is the servicing/support? Cheers

Cheers Lease costs are considerably less than we were paying previously - the price catalogue is available by request for you to compare. We've had 2 occasions to call them out so far. (both ultimately users fault, rather than a real breakdown). Both times logged online on their portal, engineer on site within a couple of hours, sorted first time. Consumables are being automatically ordered and arrive in good time, and are labelled for the machine they are intended for. No complaints! 1
