Agree entirely. Also, and again off topic - a majority of our teaching staff don't want their staff ID used in Teams, etc. We use a generic branding image.

We do as well, for example Mr J A Bloggs, Mrs B Smith, etc. Personally I hate it but teachers don't (understandably) want kids knowing their names and just having J A Bloggs, B Smith opens up different issues. Same as Rob_D that display name and firstname are different fields.

We are thinking about looking at alternatives, as currently on SIMS7 on prem, with Bromcom being the preferred due to its finance system - but am concerned about the number of comments people are making about incidents - sorry to hijack this, but what sort of issues are people experiencing ?

Another for the Bodet and i agree with everything everyone else has said. We've got it on it's own VLAN, was expensive and the controller software is awful - but does what it does.

To be honest with everyone - quite disappointed that we've got to recreate all the policies, etc. from scratch - this coupled with the missing components, we're sticking with V1 for as long as we can (basically till our licence expires) with a view to looking at an alternate solution. I mean, if we've got to start again from scratch, its worth reviewing who we get the solution from. More than likely to stay with SENSO, but i'm not doing anywork on 2.0 until all the options are there

Have your tried the deployment without Office and then manually installing Office - I tried this recently on a few different devices and the Shared device setup of Office365 failed whether installed via MDT or command line. I found an article which, sorry now can't re-find, said that it required a specific version of Office365 and/or licencing in order to work as a shared install. Can't recall the specifics, sorry. But deploying MDT without office and manually installing, using command line - will show if it's an MDT issue or an Office365/Licencing issue.

To be honest, that's where ChatGPT comes in... Previously, i wanted to take a csv output with headings Name, Year, RegGroup, AM register Mark and AM Mark Date and convert it into a word document - so i asked ChatGPT. IT chucked me a load of powershell and i started from there. What I was basically trying to achieve was a word document that updated several times during the day with different columns for all the lessons and AM/PM registration - so in the event of loss of access to SIMS Connected, we'd still have a relatively up to date register output, that could be printed and manually filled in. Think of it as two steps.. Step1 is Command Reporter to output the data; Step 2 is all the other manipulation that you'd like to do and has nothing to do with Command Reporter. Or at least that's the only way I managed to do the output creation I needed without loosing my mind (too much).

Command Reporter User Guide - The system will only output a csv file, if you require excel etc, you must manipulate the script further.

We've done this via Senso. They can still use the device for client based activities (the devices have Word, Excel, etc. installed), but general internet use is blocked. We're trying to setup supervised chat in teams so Staff can contact students, but not the other way round. Again, if anyone can shed any light as the MS information says "just do this" and you can't!!!
