Interactive Boards - Recommendations please!

We currently have a board starting to fail, and age wise others are not far behind it so I am starting to worry about a number of screens that will need replacing. We currently run mostly CleverTouch but have a couple of BenQ boards that have been really really solid. Does anyone have any recommendations for any good and affordable touchscreen boards etc? Open to all options, not bothered about it being a "popular brand" like Smart etc!

We've been pretty impressed with the Newline range that we've had (3x TT-7521Q and 1x LGA311D2 23QA), they're generally quite a bit cheaper than the BenQ interactive displays that we have and work just as well.

iiyama here. Have taken an absolute kicking in my SEND school, not missed a beat. EDU gets free MDM for them too.

We have installed 10+ BenQ panels over the last year. Exact model is RE7503A, they seem to be working very well. I manage them centrally via DMS, so am able to remotely update them, and set certain automation settings on them.

 

I have used iiyama in the past also, and they were good.

We've got a mix of BenQ, Newline and Tango boards, however we're noticing the price off all of them creep up and the price of the Smart GX series creep down to be much of a muchness. Our current plan is rolling replacement of everything for GXs as we are still a Smart Notebook house.

Newline here also - still relatively new to the UK and the boards (and the support) just get better and better. Have nearly 40 of them onsite now. Stone Computers have always managed to secure good pricing for us.

Prowise Touchscreen Ten. We previously used BenQ and iiyama, nothing wrong with them but Prowise just offers more features.

 

Here are some highlights:

- 2.1 speakers (2 speakers + 1 subwoofer)

- USB-C with 100W power delivery and DP 1.2, audio, touch, support (no need for docking station, just USB-C to laptop connection)

- 40 touchpoints

- HDMI 2.1 (CEC, ARC, HDCP 2.3)

- easy large buttons at the front of the TV for teachers to use

- built in Wifi 6 and screen casting (Miracast, AirPlay and Chromecast)

- 7-year free warranty

 

What I like the most is easy management with their web based screen control website, where you can configure settings for all the TVs.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I have been looking into options and wanted to check a brand name. Has anyone had any experience with Optoma? I just stumbled across them on AVPartsMaster and the price looked amazing (almost too good to be true...). It's a typo seems to be same price as the 65" but the 86" is only 1278 so they do seem to be cheap as chips - and thats including VAT! (Assuming ......................the whole range isn't a typo which it could be)

I would love to be able to update my OLD BenQ TVs to this version, like I can with Prowise TVs. Is this possible ?

Hi @gszech, I'm afraid the it is not possible with the Google EDLA system. It has to run on a Google certified CPU or it would invalidate the license. We do have a slot in Android option (TEY1A) that has a Google EDLA system, though you don't get the wrap around protection of the AMS system. If you'd like to know more, just drop me a DM.

Hi @HyperTech the RE03A series is still a very good screen, supporting AMS (non NFC sign on), DMS and Broadcast. It comes complete with InstaShare 2 and EZWrite 6 built in and it also features the BenQ App Store with selected apps from key partners. It does not have access to the Google Play Store (though you can sideload apps using DMS) and does not have the germ resistant technology and environmental sensors (these have only ever been present in the RP series). However the RE range is less expensive (as you'd expect) than the RP series. The RE range is the "Essentials" range and the RP is the "Pro" range. Jumping on the back of this (sorry OP!) - also recommendations for a supplier of touch AND non-touch displays, and potentially installer around the Surrey/Hampshire area. We have no interest or need for any specific software; however a built-in ability for Airplay/Chromecast/Miracast is appealing (depending on small print there).

 

Currently have a mixed bag, and each time there's a failure it's a bit of a job finding what's currently available at a good price, and then negotiating the install costs. Whilst it would be great to do a massive overhaul, it's simply not practical at the moment, so some sort of relationship where we can get reduced installation costs for the "emergency" replacements and plan in regular replacements spread over the year would be amazing.

Iv installed numerous brands and i stand by install Prometheums. they are the best fit for the school environment over all other brands imo and depending on quantity the price isn’t really that far out as you would think or expect

If you can hold fire for a couple of months, then I would suggest getting your self to BETT and you can have a hands on with many of the suppliers, talk to their people and arrange demos. I'm pretty sure if you pre-arrange with the likes of SMART they have meeting rooms where you can have slightly calmer demos.

Nothing bad to say about any of the above brands but the name I`d throw in for consideration would be Vestel - They have made screens for the likes of Panasonic and Phillips (so know what they are doing) in the past but are now going out under their own name.

 

As a strategy to grab market share their deals are incredible - for a simple, solid, reliable and incredibly well priced screen - certainly worth a look.

We were a Clevertouch school but in recent years, BenQ always comes in cheaper and we're rolling out BenQ's now instead. Bigger & better tech than Clevertouch and...cheaper @BenQ_Chris also know's his stuff!
